Possibly moving to Gillette, WY

I have a job opportunity in Gillette and I need some input. I know that it is not that close to skiing but with the schedule I am going to be working that is not a big deal. Anyone have any input on the area or if it is going to be a bad idea to move there. (I currently live in Texas with a shitty job so moving anywhere that has winter is an upgrade)

The closest decent skiing would be Red Lodge which is ~260 miles away. I'm not sure but there could be a small ski hill in the Black Hills which are closer. Definitely not ideal but it would be better than Texas.

Couple little hills by Casper I think.

Red Lodge and the Montana hills are just a bit further.

Plenty of skiing nearish if you've got a good oil sched. 3on/3 off or whatever.
