alright i posted this in ski gabber as well, but i thought i might get some more help here too. thanks in advance.

Alright, so this up-coming spring semester (like.. january - may), i have an awesome opportunity to study abroad at Skovde University, in Skovde, Sweden. So obviously if i go, i'm bringing my skis, and that was my first question. how's the skiing around there? obviously its a lot better then in minnesota, but i mean, how far are the resorts (that word being lightly used...i'm not sure if Skovde is a tourist town and even has "resorts" like you would think of whistler or mammoth etc) from town?

so then i was thinking "sweet, studying abroad in sweden, get some sweet skiing in and stuff" and it hit me... the JOI is in Sweden..during the time that i am there. or at least it was this year and i assume it wont change too much. so i look up where Åre is, and i'm crushed... its pretty far away. Being that i'm going to be a student studying abroad, i wont have a vehicle of my own so i was wondering..is there a train or something that will get me from Skovde to Åre? or anyone else have any solutions / ideas? i mean....this is a huge opportunity. help a fellow newschooler out!

I am currently studying in stockholm. I dunna about how good skiing is in that area cuz it just started snowing here but, it should be fairly easy to get a train or bus to stockholm and from there there are plently of ways to get up north to Are. Public transportation is really good here.

I am going to study abroad in Sweden next winter (2009).

I have to decide between Uppsala and Lund.

Can anyone give me some advice as to which school is better overall and for skiing?

thanks!
