Possible to tech sole mod FT morrisons?

So i've seen the thread over on tgr where a dude frankensteined some BD soles to his old konflicts. Seems kind of an old thread and no updates to how they ride etc, as far as i can see.

Anyone got any experience with this or knowledge?

I am really happy with the boots but just wish cld rock some tech soles on em, so can slip into some dyna beasts.

Have looked at the Roxa x-rides as I love 3 piece boots but Roxa are somewhat useless at getting back to me or having any information as to where i can try them etc in Europe. The 4frnt boys are reppin them in n.am and are very helpful but not in europe, annoying.

I would very much doubt you coul do it to an old Seth but a new one wit the replaceable soles maybe. You would need to get some soles from scrapa or black dimaond ect and then have to work out any sile planing which may be needed. Honestly I would not say it woul be worth it. I doubt they would ski that weLl. Why not look into one of the new generation of free ride boots like the scarpa freedom or the atomic way maker. Both those have interchangeable soles an will bot ski much better then a full tilt any way. The scarpa uses a carbon shank in the sole an the way maker uses a carbon cuff. This makes them both laterally really stiff so you can really ride hard in them. Salmon also offer the questBC if you are looking to keep weight down a bit more but don't expect to ride as hard in the quest as the other two I mentioned but if your looking to go tech I'm guessing charging is not as high a priority as light weight so maybe look at the quest. Scott also have some faiy good freeride boots but I have less experience fitting them.

Have not checked out the atomic boot, will take a look thanks.

Kind of an annoying circle here in that I want to stay in boots that I love plus I would love to not have to shell out for another pair of boots as well as tech bindings. touring in the morrisons has been fine so far but I have broken my barons and want to put lighter bindings (tech) on my exit worlds. gaaaah

But if you are going tech do you not want a lighter boot with a walk mode. I kind of see it as a waste to go tech binding if your not trying to lighten the load. Unless your going beast 14/16 you are not going to be riding that hard they are more about the way up.

If I were you I would reconsider and maybe get some guardians instead.

Oh well then yeah you will not be able to convertyour current boots I would not think. The beast actually requires you to convert a tech soled boot slightly for the increased torque on the heel piece so I would be extremely weary about trying to convert an alpine boot. I would seriously look at a tech compatible freeride boot if you are wanting to use the beast. But again the beast is not much lighter then a guardian so again maybe reconsider as it will get pretty pricey and if you don't mind touring in the Seth's I would go for a freeride binding instead.

More relevant question that everyone on NS really wants to know: How do I turn my tech boots into Full Tilts?

buddy of mine just drilled and attached a couple pieces of metal to the already positioned holes to his soles when they wore out (even had sethmo FT's). He's gone 2 seasons on em since then (and he goes massive off everything). I wouldn't recommend it and just buy new soles but it worked haha

I spoke to the dude here in Chamonix (sole boot lab) and seth and him are actually modding a pair.. i saw the start of the boot, theyd cut out the wedge and were using the walk mode from the dalbello lupo sp. now just wanna see what they do with the soles. i also saw seth fall over gettin out the gondy on one of the first pow days of the season. good times

Is it julien you spoke to at sole? It's funny really that even Seth has to go to all that effort. You would think he would except by now he can't where his full tilts for everything haha.

I must admitt must admitt earlier this season I was playing around with walk mode ideas for a full tilt. I'll be interested to see what they come up with.

Forgotten his name tbh but it was the english guy there. You'd also think that FT would except that he as one of their flagship pros would need / deserve something to accomodate that side of his skiing.

Still no idea what i'll do but guess i have a while to panic about it now that its 30+ degrees outside

Yeah that's julien he is a good fitter.

I'm sure full tilt would love to be working on designs but with there production issues, is roxa make the boot so full tilt have to share tech, I would not expect to see anything anytime soon.

I'm surprised to be honest we have not seen them rebrand the roxa freeride boot like they did the influence shell from roxa. Perhaps roxa don't want to share.

Julien is at Sanglard now, with Damien. Best place for boots in town. Sole's customer service leaves a lot to be desired.

don't see why you couldlnt do what cast does to boots to make them accept tech toes.

The cast system require a boot with a solid sole like a race boot. The op has Seth's so if he has the new ones they are not solid soled and if they are the old ones they don't have much of a sole to grind so it oils be unluckily it would work.

Really the cast conversion is not going to work on many boots and is extremely expensive for what you get. Don't forgot either it only converts the toe so is still useless for people wanting to use tech bindings not just the cast system.
