Portland Prostitution

Just watched a report on the news about a girl who lived in Portland who was picked up by a pimp at the age of 12 and was a prostitute until 16 when people found out. The news article said that this is not the only case they've found recently and that Portland seems to be the biggest place in America for it. where the hell was her family when she disappeared to go to nevada and cali... my sister is 15 and my parents know her every move.
 
Yeah, the news article was talking about how the girl was forced to dance in a strip club at 12, and how there were men who would try to rape her all the time. Also talked about how groups of like 15 men would saran wrap a girl and then gangbang her.
 
it is unfortunate that this goes on... Portland has its seedy goings on as does any large city... we have a lot of "street kids" that need help and drug use and heroin is rocking the streets hard right now. Portland has a history of stuff like this. in the old days guys got drugged and sold as ship hands on long voyages .. we have the pacific on one side which brings in half of the world on ships(common human trafficking routes) the I-5 corridor brings them north to south. in west linn where i live there was a huge craigs list prostitution. but in portland i have allways felt safe in the city.. maybe not on the east side in felony flats but compared to larger cities. its a great place to visit
