Being Irish, I guess I should resent the Notre Dame nickname 'The Fighting Irish.' After all, how long do you think nicknames like 'The Bargaining Jews' or 'The Murdering Italians' would last? Only the Ironic Irish could be so naively honset. I get the feeling that Notre Dame came real close to naming itself 'The Fuckin Drunken, Thick-Skulled, Brawling, Short-Dicked Irish'

get a tape player - they are cheap, dont break, dont skip, and make you look like an absolute focking retard

what do you guys think about the combo cd and mp3 players that read mp3's off a burned cd? worth looking into?

i paid 120 for one - it was heavy as shit, only lasted a few hours on 4 AA batteries, and broke within a few weeks. it wouldnt even play while skiing.

you should check out some of the nomads, they're decently priced for a lot of storage

go with mini disc for sure. and go to overstock.com and check them out they have teh sickest deals ever.

fuk that

i think i might get the nike mp3 player with as most storage as possible..ithink its pretty good, even thought i dont like nike because of child labor and low wages with no benifits.but its waterproof i think and it goes on your arm which is out of the way and not like breakable...idk just a idea

if you want to go the really cheap method get a creative Nomad II i beleive you can get one with no memory for around 100 bucks or even less if you shop around a lot. then just go buy a 128 mb smartmedia card online for like 50 bucks and your set. it holds like 35 songs and has a radio in it also. good stuff. or you could save up and buy one of the hard-drive based nomad player

good luck

dont get anything with less than 64mbs, i got a sony one and it only holds like 14 songs i hate it. i am getting a new one this year. just save up and get one with alot of memory and alot of battery life. also, the cd and mp3 thing is way too big and if u plan on skiing with ur Mp3 that would suck and wouldnt last as long. also i have a mini disc and i hate it compared to my Mp3 b/c you have to listen/play the whole song in order to record it and you have the im sounds on your minidisc when u listen to it.

bassically get an MP3 with alot of memory and battery life that is small and light. and durable.

I need something to listen to music this winter for skiing i have a sony sport cd player but it is way to big. Sould i get an mp3 player, MD or just stick with a CD player. What are the pros and cons of them?

get an MP3.

i have both and i find it easier to put music onto the Mp3.

Whatever you do stay away from Archos...after one season of riding mine's already completely dead. If you want something small and cheap go with the 128MB Creative MuVo.

save the monies and get an Ipod, best investment ever.

word of advice..DO NOT BUY VR700DJ headphones!! unless you are doing DJ monitoring dont get them. they are specifically designed to tune down base so that you can hear what ur mixing better. they arent made for regular listening..they make a VR700 or 500 with a different extension (not DJ) that are the kind you want..just a word of advice

nipe: Thats right Diabhal, because we're skiers

I bought a TDK Mojo MP3/CD discman... for about $280 CDN (!). Big piece of shit. Like mammothpunks said, it had really crappy battery life (max I EVER got was 4 hours), This is such a hassle. It was really big and heavy. However, the MOJO has a great playlist editor and song selection method (best out there right now). And it would not skip when playing MP3 CDs.
