Just got my first set of rockered skis, will use them for a Niseko trip in Jan/Feb 2011.
179 Surface Live Life 2. What bindings should I get and where should I mount them!?
What do you think of these skis, anyone ridden them? Anyone ridden them in Niseko?

what i know about those skis is that they are fun as hell, but bindings have a high tendency of ripping out. probably have seen upwards of 10 cases personally. go for a binding with a wider pattern
 
What bindings have you heard of ripping out/what would you suggest? That's pretty shit.
Haha the I love cock sticker was from here in NZ, from a promo of a funny TV show. I could get some made up and post to you guys if enough people were keen?
 
my friend had a pair of those skis i do believe. with rossi's on them, they ripped out, so surface just sent him a new pair of choice for 200 bones.

you never know whats going to happen though.

I popped my rocker cherry last year with the one life 189. mounted them with salomon sth16's, 2cm back from center. they rip.

i'd take a sticker. kind of a hastle to send to canada eh
 
jealous! still a rocker virgin, but I plan to get a pair of those in 189 at some point in the future.
and i'd say griffons or jesters, depending on how gnar you are. they'll be cheaper than FKS, and be less likely to tear out.

 
No I don't love cock but I do love taking the piss and the chicks dig that sticker! It's a bit of fun with the boarders who give you shit for being a gay skier.

You reckon Griffon's mounted 2cm back will be all good? I'll be thrashing them but nothing too extreme like 40ft cliff drops or anything.
 
holy thats low. your 10lbs less than me, 2 inches shorter. and only 8? def get some bigger bindings on both. like the STH 14 driver as mentioned. i'm getting a pair of those for my Green Lifes, and since my old STH 16's are destroyed(Had since they came out). i'm replacing the 16's with the 16 steels. for my one lifes.

now i hope you do alot of big mountain skiing, as do i, so my din is at 11, since some landings arent the best. my friend who is probablly 5'9". or shorter, and 125lbs, his is also at 11 for din.

the bigger bindings with help alot.
 
hahaha.And i have a pair of one lifes mounted with jesters and i have had no problems with them.
 
silly kids. sure.. if you ride din 11 when you are no bigger then a munchkin you will likely not loose your skis. but your knees wont like you very much
