thats e hell of a lot nicer of a car then my parents ever would have bought me. i got an 89 accord when i was 16.....it had 220k miles and barely ran.....lasted me a month....now thats a poor kids car....not a corrolla with 80k on it.
 
i have a sick car thats not brand new. its a 96 dark green landcruiser. from back when landcruisers were still jeeps, not the gay family sudan land cruisers. its sicker than most of my friends cars
 
the point is I bought this car myself. I pay for it myself too. $2900. you shouldve seen my first car. I bout a 1987 bmw 535i for $200. it barely ever ran. it had a hole in the gas tank right next to where the muffler broke off. so it was basically a moving bomb. I replaced the fuel injectors, the fuel injector monitor, the starter, the fuel filter, the battery, the radiator, all the fuses, the spark plugs, the fan belt, and the front headlights. I put over 3500 into that car and after I was done it still needed a new gas tank, new brakes because the rotors were pitted, and a new exhaust pipe. I ended up selling it for $800 just to get it outta my driveway.
 
i got a brand new wrx that i bought for myself and pay for everything myself. i see what youre saying....theyre are a lot of spoiled kids on here, but anyone can get a car if they really want it. it just takes a little bit of workin and saving
 
oh yeah dude, I totally understand that. it just kinda pisses me off when a kid posts a thread asking what his parents should buy him. damn rich people.
 
im right with ya on that one........i grew up inn a rich town, always has spoiled buddies who got whatever they want. crash a brand new jeep grand cherokee limited drunk, theres a new one in the driveway the next morning. shit like that
 
yeah dude. my parents are rick as fuck. but im poor. my dad was a doctor and my mom was a vetrenarian. I grew up in a gated community. I was always picked on by all the spoiled kids cuz I didnt have all the cool shit they had. now I live out in the country. I buy all my shit myself. my parents still have dial-up and no cable, no satellite. again, just for effect, damn rich kids.
 
my mommy and daddy got me a brand spankin 1986 4 runner with 220000 miles on it from my uncle. its such a fun fuckin car, you can unbolt the back top of it in like 15 minutes and youve got yourself a convertable truck. it always runs well besides the fact that it leaks quite a bit of oil, although i just got a new valve cover so its doin better. my only problem with it is that it shakes a little going over 70. im not a poor kid, but why on earth would you buy a 16 year old a nice car?

im 17 and i still strut my dads truck and my moms car.i dont have the money for one of my own,i wouldent except a car if my mom just went out and bought me one,truely that wouldent be yours that would still be your parents , and there is nothin wrong with ridin in an older crappy car cause ur going to smash it anyway.you would be some pissed if ya smashed a wrx.but not a toyota corrolla...lol
 
i drive a dented up 99 accord... automatic... with over 100,000 miles...

it still drives like new and i love it... if it gets me to the hill and back, its good enough for me...
 
My parents believe in having a moderately shitty car through high school and college so we don't crash a good car and then for a graduation present - new car. My sister had a Saturn for years, graduated and got a new Jetta. I'll be driving my old Volvo wagon until I graduate and then BAM, new Volvo XC wagon. I did have a 2001 Wrangler for a while, but it was a shitty car and kept breaking so we sold it.
 
'90 Volvo Wagon with 227K. I got it with 220k on it. It actually runs really well. RWD, and no ABS so it's fun to fuck around in. Transmission is the original one and it's gonna die sometime in the near future I'd guess. My parents gave it to me.
 
my first car looked like this... but brown. topped out at around 60... came with a free diesel-shakes ass massage though.

i am 22......and i work at deandreas pizza on caroline street in saratoga springs ny...only on friday/saturday nights thou(6p-4.30a), and sunday days(4p-9p)...with tips and all, i make about $15/hr delivering pizzas(up to 30 during horsetrack season over the summer)....i also sell about 100 beanies a month to this lady pam i know who distributes most of them to stores she contracts through....mostly australia/nz i believe.....check my hats in the crochet cult, theyre pretty sick...
 
my parents won't buy me a car and i dont have the money for one because i have to pay for school..so i dont have a car..
 
manual transmission is a good thing - if thats what you like. the transmission puts out mroe HP and manuals are fastrer because if you shift right before you redline you get maximum acceleration and performance.
 
Haha I'm the exact opposite my house is a shit-hole but my dad bys good cars because he LOVES cars. We had a 05 GTO and a Avalanche but we traded those in and got a deal on an 06 Silverado which is mine now. My dad salvaged from 20" chrome rims off of a wrecked car and the grill was $50 so it looks expensive but its really a cheap P.O.S, 1 CD in the CD player, no power locks, no power windows (which sucks when the other window is down and youre driving when it starts raining) But like I said with some pocket change its really a nice ass truck but I have a job that supports the truck payment and insurance.
 
o i know i love it. 3.8 5spd, hella fun to drive. kinda why i pushed for one. but its not a rich kid car. its only worth about $4k
 
I have a 92 Subaru Legacy. This car has gone through so much hell including it was crashed into someones house.
 
right now i have a 93 100 audi wagon.. but my first car was an 89 saab 900 turbo, 5 speed. both those were cheap and rock my world.
 
yeah, I work my ass off at a 5 star resturant making 4.75 an hour + tips....so I make like...6 bucks an hour. I saved for my corolla for like...2 years. the beamer was a piece of shit. but I still bogged it before I sold it. haha. I need either a new clutch or a new fly-wheel for my corolla cuz a who friend borrowed it said he knew how to handle a manual. turns out he just knew the basics and ground down my 2nd and 3rd gear.
 
5 star resturaunt making 1.25 in tips? Harsh. And shit a car is a car when you're young you shouldnt get a fast car because you need to save your money for things like a house or possibly children.
 
yeah. if worst comes to worst. I dont plan on having kids anytime soo tho. hahaha. im only 18. I wanna move out to colorado, get a shitty apartment, and ski bum it for a while.

kid whose parents buy them cars should not be allowed to drive, which makes no sense, but rich kid who get everything piss me off, especially if they use their parents richness to their advantage
