Poll time: Is it more important to rip essentially park or all-mountain???

look if you kill park that is cool, but i think it is even more important to ski the entire mountain. if you don't have a mountain, sorry, move out west. but yeah skiing isn't just about park. i hate seeing kids in the park on pow days that is just stupid.

T GOT SCREWED IN PIPE!!

Ninthward skis are sick.
Buy First Light.
stay out of utah it sucks here
i like ........ i like a lot of stuff

Anybody can drop in for a hit and straightline up to it.

But ripping powder, trees, crazy steeps, cliffs, and chutes takes skill that is gained over years of skiing experience.

Anyone can slide a rail after a day of trying.

dspin7x < everyone else

u are a tool dspin

I think that with regards to skiing skills, ripping the mountain is more important. If you rule in the park but suck around the mountain, you are mainly a newschool aerialist. I understand that some places, like where michiganjibber is from have no terrain to actually rip outside of the park, so they need to realize that they have no game on the mountain because they have no mountain.

It's funny how both mountain AND air are important aspects of skiing, but you take Jonny Moseley, world champion combined: moguls, ballet and aerials (full, full, full). Then he was olympic champion for moguls, Then he pulled 1080mute and some of the first rodeo 7's and 9's, won his own big air event, rips the mountain so very hard, and on film....

and yet he can't get respect from half the people on here, little wankers like dspin7x and eastAR5... you are all little pussies compared to moseley and you can't hang. respect those who can do it all.

aight i see how it is

(quote) (troublemaker just cause you live in fucking austrailia with huge ass mountains everywhere doesnt mean that everyone else has that opportunity.)

HAHAHA man that's the funniest thing i've ever heard! australia's highest mountain is about 2500 m high and our normal snowline is about 1600 m. australia has dick all big mountain except for feathertop and the main range. in all seriousness, all australia has going for it are parks, bumps and aireals.

back to the main topic: since i started skiing in 2001, i hadn't been in a park until last year, and it kills me when i see people snowplowing or leafing towards a jump-you need to learn how to stay on your feet before going into the air.

-------------------------------------

if I ever see Shane McConkey, I'm going to point at his skis and go 'Dude, they look like waterskis!' just to keep the trend going.

just because someone who does arials is actually good at skiing doesnt prove that arials is actual skiing. it take hardly any skiing skill, mostly gymnastic skill.

...

i was at mammoth yesterday, they had just recieved 6-12 inches, but they had time to groom the park. It looked amazing, very tempting. But spent the entire day searching for pow that I didn't hit a single table.

I didn't start going into the park until I was like 13 or 14.

That's like 10 years after I started skiing.

you have to be able to rip all-mtn to be good at park...u cant be a crappy skier and be good at park..thats kinda unheard of. i de.f prefer some big-mtn with good snow tho over park.both fun in their own respects

Chris turpin is a good example of non-skier turned amazing park rider.

But then again he lives in whistler and gets about 140 days a year in, so I guess you'd get good really fast that way.
