Political distraction for bigger agenda

Hello. Does ANYbody here see all this debate on election and what not as pure bullshit.

Everyone knows (well big business knows) that it's one of the biggest distractions and blind-folding on a mass scale, occurring every four years. It does not matter whether its Republican or Democrat, the differences are so minuscule. They really are, just take a look at what you are actually debating about, total shit, it's not going to get anyone anywhere. Big business knows this and they see it as pure genius, the blame gets diverted from them and on to politicians, when has a Democrat or a Republican truly changed something of significance, tell me. The ones who are rubbing their hands and giggling are the corporate giants, just ask J.P. Morgan, his effect on successive governments, Democrat of Republican was profound, they licked his arsehole, because he had the coin and therefore the funding to put stupid politicians in a seat of pseudo-power. So don't listen to it, don't talk about it, don't even vote if you don't want to, don't let anyone tell you it's unpatriotic to not vote or any of that shit. We have an election coming up here to, it's the same petty shit, not worth your time, go skiing, go fuck, do something more fun, leave the bull shit to the bull shit artists.

Lets roll motherfuckers.

I agree with you about the elite bankers and big business ultimately deciding what happens and how it doesn't matter which party is elected because ultimately, the elite's agenda will be furthered anyhow but it is up to us to try to stop this. It is your duty as a citizen of this country to vot for the one candidate that you think can hold things together better than the other and possibly even attempt to fight off this corruption. Unfortunately, my two hopes for that, Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich, have dropped out and now i'm in a dilemna because I dont' wnat to vote for Obama but I hate McCain with a passion. I may vote Obama just to try to keep McCain out.

Do not sit idly on your ass and twidle your thumbs in hopes that things will get better for you. Get out and fucking do something.

Let's roll.

for real... about time someone said some real shit.

i havent decided if im going to vote yet... if i do it will be to take a vote away from mccain.

The U.S. will never see a candidate who has something real to say. The majority of America only wants to hear the fluff, they don't want the gritty details. American politics have turned into a circus and a huge show. After watching both conventions, I have lost faith that the U.S. can ever vote someone into office who isn't fake. Let the best actor win.

JFK was the only one in recent history. But he got assassinated....

Too often we... enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.

-John F. Kennedy

A nation that is afraid to let its people judge the

truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its

people.

-John F. Kennedy

how can you say that? he led us through the Russian missile crisis and beyond that, he didn't have much of a chance to prove himself as a leader. He must've been a good fuck though because he scored with Monroe.

I agree with u that he was a great president but i think abe was probably the best

i think todays elections are set up

to the thread creator: you are nothing special. you have not stumbled upon any revelation. you sound like the thousands of other clueless hippies out there who lump every evil in the world with big business. you only make yourself sound like a god damned retard. get educated you fucking idiot.

When the forefathers of this country were creating the constitution, they didn't want the president to be that important. I think that now the president is given too much power, and that citizens should take it back.

How can you make a stab at someone's observation like that and not support it? I think you're the clueless one.

jee i dont know.. maybe because its as revealing as finding out black isnt really a color? he posts this expecting peoples eyes to be opened or some bullshit. hes just touching the surface that thousands of other lazy, attention-seeking hippies have done before him. wow corporations have say in the government? no shit kid. thats how life has been. omg and the election is all about the president telling the public what they want to hear!?? jesus this cant be any more revolutionary even if you told me that i live in an artificial lucid dream and machines use my body as a battery!!! honestly, like i said, get educated, this bs is as shocking as 3rd grade math to an advanced calc student.

this is true. i'm not american but this is also true in canadian politics, probably in other countries as well. most politicians just take the citizens for fools, not realizing that there are actually a lot of people out there who aren't blinded by the bullshit.

first of all, don't call me kid. I fucken hate that. Second of all, you are so far off the point it's not funny. I'm not trying to be "revolutionary", i hate that word. I'm not an attention seeker, look at my post count, i only post where necessary. Get educated? I don't know how to respond to this?

Just putting this out there for the one douche who didn't get the point of my thread, it's not about me, it's about trying to get people to worry less about things that are ultimately out of their hands, to either change the whole system or don't bother voting is my general message I guess. This system does not work for you.

Education? I have a BA in Political Science and have studied US foreign policy for years. but this does not matter in the slightest, these are just letters. Catch Aids and die.

im not refuting it at all. it just pisses me off when kids think they've made some kind of epiphany uncovering some sort of massive coperate-run agenda when in reality that's how life is and always has been.

and to you saying either change the system or dont vote? how am i supposed to respond to that? you must have wanted ron paul to win because your ideals are just as unrealistic as his. voting doesnt matter huh? tell that to all the people who wish they voted for gore instead. and changing the system isnt going to happen. you have to work with the system in order to have a chance at creating the change you want. your logic is just retarded.

Shut your big mouth, open it again in order to take a deep breath, release that breath, then stop jumping on people and their opinions because they are different than your own. Of course this stuff has been happening for a while. We all know that. That's not the point. I cant' speak for the thread creator but my point at least, is that we're fed up with it and want to stop it. Nobody said it was an epiphany. People like yourself just sit around and accept it and don't do anything about it and that is why the corporations and bankers have so much say in what happens and why we don't have a say on ending a war that our own citizens are doing the fighting for rather than the politicians that sent us there.

You're completely missing the point and getting angry about it.

aw someones gettiing upset. yeah your fed up with the way things work, so what? the difference between you and everyone here is nothing. youre still going to sit back and do nothing about it. you will not learn how to make change but instead complain whenever a campaign commercial comes on and hope that someone does the work for you. its pathetic. yeah i accept it big deal. its the same exact shit youre doing except i dont keep my voice silent in submission.

jeeze everybody is a debbie downer. either way it doesnt matter its not like we are going to organize a revolution or some shit. its going to be the way it is...nothin we can do about it.

lol. what are you talking about you don't keep your voice silent in submission? that contradicts everything you were just talking about.

not at all. these people say dont vote, keep out of the system. thats silence. what im saying is use the system to make yourself heard. get educated on how to do that instead of bitching about the way things are. biggest problem with what you guys are talking about is going completely against something that is the only way to make a change. its fucking retarded hippy bullshit. go protest or sign an online petition because you know, its what works (sarcasm).

agreed again. most of the people who really get agrivated about politcs and so on don't do shit about it and just complain. either step up and create a change or live with the problems

you got to be kidding me... you think the people with the real power will look at those demonstrations and think to themselves, "well gee wizz fellas, i think they're right!" all that does is create an awareness thats already there. look how many large-scale anti-war protests there have been. and look at what they accomplished- nothing. you have to work with this "evil" government in order to get change in it. screaming and waving posters at the problem wont fix it. think of it like a kid asking mom for a cookie. kid cries and screams, but doesnt get the cookie. now if the kid does what the mom expects, asking politely, the kid gets the cookie. mosts (notice how i say mosts) protests are for the lazy, sheep following idiots who have no concept on how to make change correctly. they see a bunch of people out in the streets screaming and walk out and join them. hardly making your voice heard.

the only true canidate was ron paul...people think they have such a choise and this is such a free country thats why our form democract sucks we are forced to believe that there are only 2 ways to vote yet pleople are blind to all the real posibilities they actually have dont for the lesser of the 2 evils vote for who you fel will do the right thing regardless of perty, race, sex, political agenda vote what is best for our country not 4 the 2 canidates which fox news tell us to vote for open your minds and free your self the the elitiest propaganda which is forced upon us in ever outlet of out lives

for sure man ron pual is tight, i think all this coutry really needs to follow is the consitution. The police will be used to force the real law and the real criminals, are government will be used to protect this nation from other countrys and wars, and we will have judges to sentece criminals. other then that we'd all have a lot more freedom but we won't be some dumb and weak so the us will remain on top and powerful! that sounds like a fucking awsome life. anyway you look at the libertaries are the only differnt' party cause the dems and reps are the same exact fucking thing!

Awareness (from a blog in another thread)

An interesting fact about white people is that they firmly believe

that all of the world’s problems can be solved through “awareness.”

Meaning the process of making other people aware of problems, and then

magically someone else like the government will fix it.

This belief allows them to feel that sweet self-satisfaction without

actually having to solve anything or face any difficult challenges.

Because, the only challenge of raising awareness is people not being

aware. In a worst case scenario, if you fail someone doesn’t know

about the problem. End of story.

What makes this even more appealing for white people is that you can

raise “awareness” through expensive dinners, parties, marathons,

selling t-shirts, fashion shows, concerts, eating at restaurants and

bracelets. In other words, white people just have to keep doing stuff

they like, EXCEPT now they can feel better about making a difference.

Raising awareness is also awesome because once you raise awareness

to an acceptable, aribtrary level, you can just back off and say “Bam!

did my part. Now it’s your turn. Fix it.”

So to summarize - you get all the benefits of helping (self

satisfaction, telling other people) but no need for difficult decisions

or the ensuing criticism (how do you criticize awareness?). Once

again, white people find a way to score that sweet double victory.

Popular things to be aware of: The Environment, Diseases like Cancer

and AIDS, Africa, Poverty, Anorexia, Homophobia, Midde School Field

Hockey/Lacrosse teams, Drug Rehab, and political prisoners.

ha here's more

Hating Corporations

One of the more popular white person activities of the past fifteen

years is attempting to educate others on the evils of multi-national

corporations. White people love nothing more than explaining to you how

Wal*Mart, McDonalds, Microsoft, Halliburton are destroying the Earth’s

culture and resources.

While the growth of multi-national corporations can be attributed to

a number of complex social, economic and political factors, many white

people prefer to take the word of two trusted sources: No Logo and AdBusters.

Published in 2000, No Logo has been responsible for more

white person “enlightenment” than any book since the burning of the

library at Alexandria. By reading this one magic book, white people are

able to get a full grasp on the evils of multi-national corporations

and then regurgitate it to friends and family.

Advanced white people will supplement No Logo with a subscription to AdBusters, where they will learn how to subvert corporate culture and return it to the masses. Specifically, this means taking ads and redoing them to give a negative message about a product.

Apparently the belief is that when other people see this ad, they will

be hit with an epiphany that their entire existence has been a

Matrix-style manufactured universe.

If you plan to engage in lengthy conversations or get high with white people it is recommended that you read No Logo or one issue of AdBusters.

Failing that, it is acceptable to buy a copy to leave on your coffee

table. When white people see it, they will recognize you as someone who

can see through the advertising and has a proper perspective on life.

When

engaging in a conversation about corporate evils it is important to

NEVER, EVER mention Apple Computers, Target or Ikea in the same breath

as the companies mentioned earlier. White people prefer to hate

corporations that don’t make stuff that they like.

Following these simple steps can help you gain the trust and respect of white people in a relatively short period of time.

while i agree on the fact that awareness really means nothing compared to action, sometimes it does. awareness does in fact, actually lead some, not all people to help out in very positive ways. i agree with some people believing in a abritrary level of commitment, but i think you are being pessimistic, as some people volunteer for causes every day, and i actually enjoy volunteering and making a diffence, not just raising awareness.

cliffnotes: awareness actually does sometimes lead to action (duh)

stop being a pessimist, its not good

well maybe if people would stop voting for rich fuck republicans who are personally involved in some of the most obscenely large and profitable industries the country wouldn't be quite as heavily influenced by business.

if you wanna talk about big business being limited, dont look to the democrats to help either. The tax increases they plan to impose on small companies and creating a universal healthcare system will put a rediculosly high number of small companies under. Not to mention doubling capital gains taxes and moving the starting point from 500,000 to zero. Big buisness' are the only ones who can afford to provide that kind of coverage to thier employees unless smaller companies are making an absolute killing.

This thread has fallen victim to all the traps that the others did. Half the the people replying don't read the initial post. It's fucken stupid arguing with a bunch of people on the internet if one or two people can't understand the concept of the original post.
