poles muddaa fucker! i tried to ski without poles for a day and it was a nightmare! you dont notice when you have them, but you defiantly notice when you dont have them!
I'll go either way depending on how I'm feeling. If I'm not try anything new or anything I'll go without poles, but fort he majority of the time I use poles.
Also if you think not having poles makes it impossible to ski then you have shitty balance.
I think starting out it's a benefit to not use poles. It'll improve you balance and control as you won't have your poles to steady yourself. To the person who says it's hard skiing without them, it might be because you're relying on them too much.
I think i read here that a alot of the top guys started out without poles. Was it tammy W who said the only reason he started using them was because he was getting marked down for not having them in competitions?
there's this kid who skis at my hill. i'm almost positive that he can't actually ski and he doesn't use poles. his hands are fucking everywhere and it always looks like he's pointing at something.
Every one was skiing no poles like 3-4 years ago i feel like.. I was actually talking to my buddy last weekend, wondering if the whole "no pole riding" will become popular again. I don't think so...
I WILL GO EITHER WAY DEPENDING ON WHAT I'M DOING. I LIKE GOING NO POLES TO DO PARK AND STUFF, HOT LAPS BLAH BLAH BLAH, BUT ACTUALLY SKIING POLES ARE BITCHIN LIKE A TRICHIN
