I prefer the triple jump, but pole vault is pretty sweet too. Its awesome when the bar gets to 14+ feet, its soo crazy

in my neighboring town a kid got killed pole vaulting

he was running up to that indent in the ground and dropped the tip to the ground to let it slide in but it was sliughty raised and it caught and the pole was shoved through his head. he lost so much blood and brain matter and he obviously dies instantly......kinda scary

i've seen a lot of ppl break their poles in mid air which im happy i have yet to experience

I stall out all the time inverted b/c i dont drive in far enough and come down upside down in the box I've had one concussion

the other girl i vault with it the state record holder we went 2nd and 7th in state last yr, she just broke the record this yr tho with 11'5'' and in our younger yr i watched her get a crazzzy bad concussion she was life flighted to rainbow babies and children and was there 2 nights its a very scary sport sumtimes

Not a track sport, but when there is no skiing, it is all about Ultimate Disc, or Ultimate Frisbee as some of you may call it. Ultimate is the fuckin shit.

i really really want to learn how to pole vault, but i row and so i have crew like every day.. but it looks so cool.

kykelly i'm guess you meant to tpe 11'6" whiich is nuts for a girl and i valt in ohio too..upper arlington i am freshman though and suck and have only gotten 9'

i did like 11 and a half or around there in hs.. i got hurt alot. my sister went to ncca d1 nationals like 4times, she jumped like 13 and a half

wow - must have be nice to go to a school where you're even exposed to pole vaulting. no such action when i was in school.

 
no it was 11'5'' it was supposed to be 11'6'' but when its a meet or state record u have to measure it.. and it ended up being 11'5''

 
That's cool, i didn't know about that i got 9'6" today. Are you going to be at the OCC's next saturday perhaps?

I saw a video of a guy pole vaulting who went over the bar, but his pole sorta stayed up and he landed on the tip of it with his taint... not cool.

That stuff looks pretty crazy, though... I would be scared shitless if I had to do it hahaha

One of my roommates holds both the indoor and outdoor pole vault record for my college, he vaults around 16 feet...damn good.

No idea i'm a freshman so i don't really know i jsut knwo that i got to Upper Arlington High School and i'm going to some OCC meet that is apparently really important. Too bad i'm god awful.

hah its ur confrence meet.. who ever wins the meet ur ur conference champs then it goes districts, regionals, state

where is upperarlington... if u make it to regionals we'll probally be at the same meet

 
It's about 5 minutes from OSU stadium near columbus. And we won't make it to the regionals because our 3 best vaulters myself included are all freshman. We coulda had 2 guys doin 13 but they are both acidemically inelligible and then our other 2 best guys are hurt. SO it's just the 3 freshman representin for the rest of the season. My 2 friends have both vaulted 10'6" which is really good for freshman and i myself got 9'6" today.
