Just went up to see my brother in Cincinnati and he surprised me with a new pair of poles for my birthday. They are 115 cm, I like them a lot but i'm worried that the might be too long because im mainly riding in the park. I dont know much about poles considering ive never used them so can you guys help me out, should I take them back and get a smaller size or keep them?

Also, i am 5'9

cut them below 100cm if you want "park length" poles. Im 5 10 and I was around 40 inches I think. Just mark on the poles where you want them to be and then take the grip off (submerge in hot water) and cut the pole and hammer the grip back on it necessary

The way I determined is just putting my arm strait down and putting my palm down. Got a buddy to cut them that length and they're perf for regular riding

I do this too but I describe it as pimp cane length. However instead of cutting them down from regular poles I steal them from children..... They can run pretty good but none of them can take a punch.

If you turn the pole upside down, and put your arm at a 90 degree angle, you should have the top of your hand at the basket of your pole.

That's how I do it, and it works well.

If your poles are too long you can cut them you know. Just yank the shit out of the handle till it comes off, and cut to your size. Then you can put hairspray or glue on the pole where the handle should be, and stick it back on.

This is for a traditional length pole, not a park length.

Ride your poles the way you wanna ride your poles? Everything's all preference anyway... Try 'em out now and if you don't like them that length, cut 'em or get some smaller ones

Flip them upside down, hold them under the basket, see if your forearms are parallel with the ground, and then cut them down to about a foot and a half.

You can pull the grips off and chop em down eh?

I like about a meter for park.

Have adjustable for skitouring.

Longer for going up, shorter upon descent.
