Pole plants when landing?

Recently I’ve noticed that I’m planting a pole when coming off a spin, is this a bad habit or what?

If I overshoot a jump real bad I'll poleplant as hard as I can when I land because I've convinced myself that it takes some of the impact from my feet. Probably not true, but placebo is a hell of a drug.

don't do this if your poles aren't short though
