Pole mount for a contourHD

my dad just sent me a ContourHD helmet cam, but i wanna mount it on a ski pole like the GoProers are doing (there the same sort of camera, just a different shape)

has anyone that has one got any good ideas on how to make a good one?

i was thinking of supergluing a nut to the bottom, then getting a screw on the end of the ski pole, so i can take it on and off. but i want to be able to move it around a bit, so i can get different angles, not just like filming with it at the end of a spear.

hard to explain what i want haha. +k for anyone that understands and has any neat ideas.

thanks!

Step1: Acquire a universal mount adaptor for your contour HD

^^you can order these online or ask your dealer ...
Step2: Get a Mount for your pole; ie.you could get a RAM mount; http://www.ram-mount.com/EmptyPages/DIGITALCAMERA/tabid/1542/Default.aspx^^basically you choose a handlebar mount, this is a bracket with a ball joint that fits on your pole, then you choose a connecting arm, then you choose a baseplate to attach your camera, so you got pole, bracket with ball joint, connecting arm, balljoint with baseplate, contour HD adaptor, contour HD ....
so, i'll draw it out for you what you'll need, besides the contour adaptor;

too complicated?
get yourself the universal mount adaptor and buy yourself a Ultrapodthis is a small portable tripod that has a velcro strap that allows you to mount it on virtually anything....the mount is a universal tripod bolt and will fit your universal adaptor...

I think i got everything covered :)

thanks for that mad post! that looks so perfect. thing is i would have to order it from the states and wanna use it asap. so i was gonna just build one from parts i can get at the hard ware.

+k

you can get the ultrapod in any decent photography shop, it already has a double knee joint so you can adjust your camera in any way....
but anyways, if you do end up making something on your own, be sure to keep us in the loop and post pictures of your creation, and tell what you liked/didn't like about it !
good luck !
