Pointless memo to outerwear companies: pocket zippers should close down!

Call me a nit-picker, but I strongly believe that the pockets on outerwear should zip down to close and up to open and not the other way around. Since we are always hanging tickets and passes and shit off our zippers, skiing in trees and whatnot, it just makes sense to have that extra peace of mind that your pocket isnt going to accidentally be pulled open. My helly hansen jacket zips down, and I always considered it a sign of the real thought and attention to detail that company puts into their product design. i'm sure nobody else cares about this, but for what its worth i thought maybe some outerwear reps would see this and realizes that their zippers were on upside-down. /end rant.

haha i thought no one else noticed this. my pockets are always open from the zipper being pulled down and it pisses me off. I don't want to loose anything if its in there

Pockets on both my jackets currently zip horizontally and are covered by flaps. So. Pants pockets close downwards, but that seems to me to be the usual way of doing things. Who is making these jackets that have zippers that come open?

orage. my pants zippers are fine because they are horizontal, but on the jacket they are all zip up so they come down all the time and i get snow in there when i fall and it melts. This is not comfortable

haha. You're not crazy, I totally support your rant. Maybe they think zipping down to open is more convenient, but I prefer the peace of mind

and if you're just cruisin and you realized you left your pocket open its much easier to zip your pockets down while skiing than up.

nah... ive broken about half of the oakley zippers ive ever had, theyre crappy and usually really dainty compared to the outerwear they're on.

you got unluckey, you cant generalise on a whole company just from your experiences, i have had no problems with any of my oakley product

I would like to think that I lost my cell phone because the chest pocket on my Helly coat opens down and came unzipped while skiing rather than I forgot to zip it up.

But zippers going the right way is def a bonus when buying outerwear.

everyone, everywhere, on the entire history of the world makes an opinion based on their own experiences.... youre an idiot.

AGREED!! also i would like to have the vent zipper come across the leg like on SWEET pants, that would make such a huge difference!

yeah no shit, but dont come on here and try feed your opinion to everyone and be stubborn about it at the same time thinking that yes, the company makes 100% shity quality product, when in fact they dont and its just been your bad experience...

Theres a difference between having an opinion on a product and just bllabering out a bold statement that the company sucks and is shit quality... so dont call me the idiot

yeah i know how you feel. i cant carry anything vvaluable in my gaper one peice because they zip up...

Please show me where I said every product oakley makes is crap.

Ive owned about 10 pieces of oakley outerwear, and Ive broken probably 5 or 6 zippers. Not just the main ones, usually its the venting zippers that break. Oakleys higher end stuff like puffy jackets and pants are usually pretty legit quality, but some stuff theyve made (the 3.5 puffy pant) is total crap.

And yes you're still an idiot for calling out me for having an opinion, it's the internet dummy and the thread is talking about zippers. Also, 1 of my oakley jackets has pocket zippers that go up... which is stupid.

i never said that you said every product oakley makes is crap, i said you said that oakley is crap quality, "Oakley zippers are complete crap"......thats talking about the quality of oakley product... so i was not wrong to call you out

yes and no.
Think about it this way,
You have your phone in that pocket you open it,
your phone falls out.
Were if company would actualy make legit pass looks on the bottom of your jacket,
Then you would never have this problem.
