Wouldn't it be dope if something like this went down? Maybe meadows or bachelor would host it?

How would you go about finding sponsors or even getting something like this in the works?

You'd probably want to contact event coordinators of mountains where it could be. Only problem is, they aren't going to take an email from just some guy seriously. It would have to come from a big sponsor, but the problem there, is you have to email a big sponsor and they aren't going to take an email from just some guy seriously either. I would say write letters to everyone you can (mountains, sponsors, whoever) stating exactly what you are thinking about. An actual letter though, not email, keep it very formal.

i think snoqualmie would be the best place for the slopestyle part. if we could have it at west off the skiers right side of pacific crest, so the course could be nice and big. They could probably put on a pretty nice pipe contest too.

The key would be to get enough sponsors to have a fairly large cash purse (like $3000 for first).

If we could get that then all the boyz from oregon and whistler and idaho would come and we would have a helluva comp.

this should really come from the riders

we should all input and come up with a formal proposal to send to potential host mountains and sponsors.

What events would we want to have?

pipe, slopestyle, big air, rale jam?

what time of year would we want to have it?

who would we want to sponsor it?

you guys that have sponsors would have to help out with who to contact and such

what would a potential sponsors obligation be?

how much money? how much schwag? what would they gain from sponsoring an event like this?

i need some people to jump in and help with and idea like this.

If you have any connections or know how to contact the people that can help make this happen, lets jump in and do it, make some calls, if someone says no lets bug em even more

it would be cool if it could happen but it is going to take more than just telling your friends friend who owns a clothing company to put up 20 bucks for a prize, If you want this to happen, make a good case, then send the exact same thing to all the mountains and companies that will look at it,... its alot harder to get things done than most people think., if you want this to happen, i would suggest tyler forman...msg him to see what he says

It may take years to get big but it has to start from something. I am behind Chris, I do what I can because I plan on livivng in washington for a while and i wanna see it progress. if that was directed at me, i was not trying to sound that way. and i know that tyler isnt the only one that can do stuff. but alot of the people that are saying... 'ill look around for some sponsors'... that is way harder than they are thinking. people dont give away money just because. bottom line is that money is coming out of someones pocket. and unless you present them with a dope, fail safe case on why there should be a comp,people are not gonna front you the thousands of dollars it would take to get this thing going... my thoughts are someone should look into, talking to freeze or freeskier and straight up asking what the possibility is of them fronting the comp. because to eb sucsesful it is going to need advertising and money.

okay, how does this sound?

Friday: open all day practice on slopestyle course (i always find myself taking my slopstyle runs feeling like i didnt get enough practice on the course)

Friday night: Rider judged rale jam to kick things off, 20$ entry fee, first place a pair of 4frnts (if shawn comes through) 2nd and third get schwag from whatever spancers we gets

Saturday: slopestyle, $50 entry fee, hopefully get alot of skiers in this, enough to make first place like $1500 and yada yada

saturday night: party at apesteads house in the indian ghetto

sunday: pipe, $50 entry fee, since there probably wont be as many people entering pipe as there are slopestyle first will probably be like $600

some shit like this might happen a couple times over the course of the year at snoqaulmie... but it most likely be non competition straight film and photo shit.. Thats really the main concern from the mountains is that theyre terrain is getting put into magazines and videos.

You would probly have to get a rider list going, to sell to the mountain that people are dope and will produce good shit.

i actually started thinking that its a good idea, but it i think would be a better idea if you straight ditched the competition mentality..

might attract more riders too, if theyre not sitting around all day waiting for there run at mountain that they dont like.

i dunno matthew, maybe its cause im not really consistent enough yet to be all about throwin down in front of the camera and gettin famous and shyt, but I really like competitions. I like seeing all the people I dont normally ski with.

Also i think Washington has something to show to the rest of the freeskiing world, we have a really tight scene and a lot of dope shyt goes down. I think the rest of the skiing world should know that there is a hardcore dirty ghetto hippie skiin scene in WA.

Jus rokn out and filmin is dope and all but you fockers never call me and say 'yo lets go up ta snoshyt and kill som muthafuckas' so i get left out! lik i missed davis making those kids to pushups, hell i missed a lot of stuff.
