Please recommend some sad/moody music

I have my reasons, I want to listen to some sad music. Favorably classic or instrumental, it always makes it better.

For example: Forrest Gump Suite - Alan Silvestri
 
i wouldnt cosider it really sad, but rainy day material, Jack Johnson, hes got a few albums out pretty good.
 
Sleep by Phish. It's not sad but everytime I listen to it I get a smile on my face.

Death Cab for Cutie and Jose Gonzalez. He's acoustic but his music is really good. Might help.
 
i second jack johnson.... hes mad chill and has good sad music.... specially the sleep trough the static cd..

Also junior boys.... theyre kinda eletric but sorta moody @ the same time...

last but not least if ur really down finger eleven- one thing best sad song ever!

perk up only three months till the montains open =]
 


Contemporary Music

Nick Cave & Warren Ellis - The Assassination of Jesse James OST: the OST for The Proposition by Cave and Ellis is also good.

Carter Burwell - In Bruges OST: A mix of original compositions and other music. Very good.

Operas & Choral

Vivaldi - Gloria, Magnificat, Concerti: I have been listening to this choral piece for days now, it is excellent, especially the Sara Mingardlo & Patrizia Biccire Recording.

Reinhard Goebel - Francesco Maria Veracini: 5 Overtures

Schubert - Winterreise: Although I'm not a big fan of German Operas Winterreise is a very good "brooding" music.

If you're not into Operas or Choral pieces you might just want to stick with the contemporary pieces, the two contemporary pieces i listed are excellent "brooding" music.
