So I just got my first speeding ticket. I am 18 years old. I was going 81 in a 55 zone, so I was going 26 over. I am wondering if anyone knows about how much this is going to cost? Also, how much will my insurance go up? Will my insurance go up at all? Is it normal for most people to have a speeding ticket?

Any thoughts, answers, or personal knowledge/experience is greatly appreciated.

Well 20 over is considered reckless driving so you are looking at a pretty hefty fine. If its your first, you can get supervision which if you do will not effect your insurance, but that will cost even more. Its pretty normal to have a ticket, that much over is not as normal.

pray cop doesn't show up to court if you go which i would and you can always ask for community service so it stays off your record and take traffic school your insurance will go down

I wouldn't be too worried about it. It sucks but the majority of drivers have at least one speeding ticket or similar violations.
