you should take a look at the' knee binding' . Its a new binding coming out next year which claims to prevent acl tears. Probably of useful info for your thesis. good luck.

it's already out, and it's probably the shittiest binding ever made. It extremely light and cheap plastic, every bit of it, and each heel piece only turns to one side, so there is a left and right binding. i have see pens made out of better plastic. feels like it would crack just by skiing on it.
