thanks guys. I actually only use iphoto, so I don't do much editing yet. I'm trying to get my hands on photoshop though.
 
thanks guys. I just noticed that the samples I posted in this thread seem to be crappy quality. maybe just my computer though.
 
Do you like the tamron? Im thinking about getting one for my rebel. Does the lack of image stabilzer cause problems at all?
 
Well in my amateur opinion, I actually really like it. Its a bit heavy and big (I have it on my d60) but that hasn't been that much of a problem for me. It focuses pretty nicely manually and when I get it on my next camera (the d90 replacement) I think it will be better because of the internal AF motor. My mom actually bought it so I never really did any research on competing lenses.

Lack of image stabilizer hasn't been a problem for me. I have only shot in daylight with it, so no slow shutter speeds really so to be honest I couldn't tell you how much of a problem it would be. So overall, it is an ok lens. For the money though, I would spend it on something else. or maybe a used lens.
