Plans for 20/21 season?

Seeing how resorts will most likely wont be open or running with a raffle system what do you guys plan on doing? I'm looking at getting some daymakers and some skins.

What leads you to believe that the resort season won’t happen or be a raffle system? Last updates I saw on this from Vail/pwdr suggests that the season will happen as planned.

Playing it entirely by ear and day-by-day. A lot more walking up stuff to ski, thats for sure. And away from the popular touring spot junkshows.

I honestly really only care for the resorts being open just to be able to work mostly full-time as a coach and tons of kids (hopefully) will have tons of free time in between doing nothing and doing online school, so mom and dad will be hopefully throwing their kids at their coaches this winter, but that's not going to go as planned at all. In fact, we'll be lucky to even have maybe 1 day of on-snow training a week, if that. Maybe 1 day every two weeks.

Just sucks that the sport we love is getting absolutely buttfucked due to its reliance on the tourism industry and selling $10.00 beers and burgers.

Yeah, I have been, but college classes also take indoors with hundreds of people potentially present, whereas skiing takes place in the outdoors and most people are wearing masks, gloves and 7 layers of clothing.

Have you not been watching the news? Look at schools and colleges open up and shut right back down.

Skiing doesn’t happen in the lodge, the slopes ARE going to be open, we will see some lift line spacing and a seating system that keeps separate groups of people separate. We will see some lodging and dining restrictions, maybe a limit on daily tickets etc, which won’t apply to pssholders I don’t think, and that’s about it

Even with how things are trending negatively especially for universities etc , governors are not shutting things down which is what is required for state parks, ski resorts etc

Also trump wants everything open, until Biden wins, I think we’re safe, hate to say it but, when he wins , he may shut shit down... which may be good but fuck it would suck beginning or mid Jan another shutdown ?

I bought my pass today. Reduced prices for returning members, 2 50% off tickets and covid assurance seems like a good deal. Still, im planning to do more hiking and BC skiing still and only go to the resort if conditions suck.

Working ski school, doing 60+ days on the same tiny hill. Stills sucking at rails. Hopefully making a trip in December or January.

Building a fat backyard park with 4 or 5 rails and hopefully getting some backcountry in for the first time. I don't expect much out of the resorts but I'm hoping COP at least sets up some decent rails and a kicker, who knows if they'll spend a ton of money making snow this year.

Ya I think they’ll at least open the lifts up. Not quite as popular as skiing but if you look at mtb, whistler bike park, along with many other smaller parks, is open this summer but they made changes to lift lines and who you can ride with the lift, limited facilities, etc. But whistler is a huge destination for mtb so I think if they opened this summer the ski resorts could open as well

From a college student and many others can attest school is an absolute disaster right now. I'm betting schools wont last more then 2-3 weeks max and the way many states are going its just going to get worse when October hits. If I wasn't in school I would have moved to Europe by now.

Was planning to move back to Canada and ski instructor again but I'm not so sure now, will have see what it's like in November and then then decide if I'm gonna pull the trigger, if not no skiing this winter ?

U in Hawaii?

Buying seasons's pass. Buying daymakers and avy gear to hedge bets. I don't know if I'll be able to take an Avy 1 course this year, but I can definitely practice finding a beacon in the snow, and using the probe, shovel, etc. myself. Even then I'd only ski low angle pow to avoid getting in avalanches if I had to do that, but hopefully I'll just be skiing bird like normal. Groomers are fun as shit.

Definitely touring a ton more, tentative plans to get to Japan and maybe move to Banff

There's always Scotland right?

I guess , but if I'm gonna fly to Scotland I might as well go to France, still a 2 week quarantine if the rules don't change from now to then

Gonna buy my first ever Epic Local season pass and I’m planning a CO trip and. Cali trip. So just trips this year in my agenda.

What are people's thoughts on crowds? You think covid will deter a bunch of phonies from going to the mountains cuz this year will be more about just skiing and less about bs?

What’s with u and kids??? U friends with the talented Mr. Epstein?
