So i want to swap pivot toes with my brother. The issue is that his pivots are 12s and mine are 14s. Can i do this or nah

same toe piece, just different spring. so i think it'd be fine in real life but i wouldn't be surprised if the shop doesn't want to do it on the books. your results may vary of course

i’m a certified ski technician and have the tools to do it just never really looked at the toes yet thanks for the response

Sorry to be a party pooper but for the sake of a colour swap of your toes, I wouldn’t.

Ski bindings are a safety device first and possibly messing up 2 solid mounts to end up mismatching the spring ratings of your toes seems like a bad idea, even if the range allows you to ride at your correct din.

On top of that, we’re you to have a crash and an injury relating to the performance of the binding, I’m 100% look would not indemnify your set up and you’d have no recourse to recoup damages, even if you could prove there was a fault with the binding.

its just not worth it to me.

word thank you very much that’s very helpful

Sorry I should have mentioned i wouldn’t do it myself just for the colors. And if they’re already mounted, the remount isn’t even worth it in my eyes

youre a tech and you had to come to NS for this question? Youre a tech and you didnt know the fks12 and 14, some of the most popular bindings on the market, are identical except for the spring?

odd.

chill, i don’t deal with pivots often it was mainly a race shop
