From the photo....8.

Well from the photo it looks like they're below 8. I was asking cause Im curious why someone would spend the extra money to get a binding with a 8-18 range when they're setting them well within the sweet spot of the pivot 14.

Dunno what he's talking about, I had a shop do a remount earlier this year with the window on the heelpiece of some jesters missing. They didnt care.

No clue.....ive seen a lot of people doing this.....ive even hear people talking about bumping their dins up so they could buy 18s. Never understood it. If you ride at less than 10 or 12 you absolutely dont need a full metal binding imo.

I ride at 10-11 and i can't justify 18s really. I usually try for the 155s. That being said....i do have one pair of 18s.

i usually ride at 12 but i partially tore my acl and bumped my dins waay down to slide around and ski

The 18s have a fully pivoting toe piece whereas the 16s have a toe piece with break away wings. The 18 toe piece has more elasticity and less prerelease, even with DINs at low settings for the binding.

and theyre prob less than $100 more. so yeah im sure plenty of people do it unnecessarily to puff their chest (welcome to skiing), but i dont think it's really that weird

that said most of my turntable bindings have been 12 or 14s. that's why i love them so much, because i feel no need to overdo the DINs even if im in gnar mode
