planning on moving to whistla, what should i get to rip mostly park, big mountain when necessary. i notice rory uses the pistols mostly, and pep uses both. im about 165 pounds. five nine

for mostly park go with the pe's

It shouldn't be a tough decision SMUGGS! One is a fat powder ski, the other is a narrower park ski. One has a serious punk theme, and the other has a rap hip hop theme. Which one fits you better. In my opinion get the PE. I already know you'll look like a fool with the Pistols. 'Whistla' ??

 
my friend who has both pretty much rides his pistols all the time, park pow or pipe, well not pipe in a comp, but pistols are a good all around ski

based on your weight and preferences, i'd go for the Public Enemies if i were you. they rock all over the mountain, you won't be disappointed.

the PEs are skinny compared to the Seth Pistols but compared to most other skis, there pretty fat, i would go with them....but thats just me

ya if i was choosing that i would definately get public enemies, think about it they are super wide for a park ski already and will still be great all mountain i would say for sure, k2 seth pistols are sick but are intented and built mostly for backcountry

get pe's cause you can ski them in park great and can still ski backcountry fine. with the pistols you will only have a good backcountry ski.

The Fujatives are real, they are in the development stage, there are about four pair right now and K2 is working on them for a mid season release next year.

I have both the PE's and Pistols, I ski the pistols just about all the time but that's because I usually am not in the park. Most of the people I know think the PE is a great all around ski and if you had to choose it's probably the most versitile of the two...

yeah, the fujatives are real. i met a guy at whistler riding the factory tests. you may want to wait for those. if not, id say go with the PEs

The fujative is supposed to be an afordable park specific ski. I have not been on them yet but I was in the room when K2 made the first few pair, they are soft as hell and are designed to butter in and out of rails and jumps. I think the plan is to have the PE's as all mountain boards and have the fujative as a park specific ski people can beat on...

 
thanks freezed, ill take your advice since your not against line because of your icon... will the fujatives be able to handle all mountain still? and how is k2's warranty's?

The fujative is going to have a vertical sidewall, thicker 2.5mm edges, and a braided core. All that should make it up to par with the tougher made skis out there but if you break 'em it's your fault...K2 will replace manufacturing defects not user caused breaks...you know the difference.

 
the fujatives will probably be okay all mountain, but fairly unstable at high speeds because of their softness. you could get them if you mainly do park. but if you are doing park and other stuff, go for the PEs.

dude thats not even a question...PISTOLS hands down, either the 169 or 179 cm models. i ride mine in park and big mountain, and they do well in both...you'll like having a fatter ski...but demo first, that way you'll know for sure

thats the problem i cant demo them. im selling my trouble makers now, and i might i know for a fact im getting one of those 2, i just dont know what one. the kid who made the coment about the publics still being fat is totally true. im leaning towards the pubs but there is a place in my heart for the pistols.

think about it, if you are skiing backcountry with k2 pistols it will the greatest ski ever, if you ski park with k2 pistols it will be a lil sketchy because they are so huge, if you ski park with k2 pubs. it will be excellent but then if you go backcountry they are still good for big mountain but not as good as pistols, i say get pub enemies, but it depends will you ski more park or more backcountry?

Smuggs, I don't want to be rude but you do live in VT, You probably won't be skiing as many days in neck deep powder as you do on boiler plate. With that in mind I think you probably do not need a ski as big as the pistols, but a alot of people are using them a a primary park ski, Pep does in Volume Nine, guys are using the smallest sizes and they like the stability when landing on a giant platform...but if you stay in VT mostly you should probably get the PE.

 
yeah..... he did say hes moving to whistler but the PE would still be the best choice even out there

IF you're moving to whistler get the Pistols, Whistler kicks ass and you probably won't ski in the park as much as around the mountain once you figure your way around. Most of the super good hits are off into the BC and off natural rollers and pillow drops, the park kicks ass, but the real sick stuff is hidden. The terrain at whistler and blackcomb is deffenitly Pistol terrain.

Nice ryan, good point.

I know a lot of the K2 guys are skiing the Pistol everywhere...check out Volume 9, Pep, and Mark use them everywhere, just the shorter lengths so they can spin with less swing weight...

 
man youre goign to be living in whistler, why would you get a park only ski, get teh pistols go rip up the big mtn because you have nothing like that in the east then ski the park, which the pistols still work great in. I got a park ski instead of bc ski this year in utah and regretted it

 
well you see im used to having tms and concepts for all mountain skis, most of the time they worked great. im sure that i will do a lot of park and pipe. ill probably end up with the pes just because they are fatter than my tms anyways. maybe i should get both? such a perdicament.
