Pipe (Spring Daze)

So I saw Spring Daze by Bobby Brown which imo is one of his best edits although I wish there were some rails.

In some parts, Bobby airs over the actual coping onto the other side.

I was just curious as how he/others do that.

Do you kind of nollie to get over the pipe to air over?

Also just for pipe in general, do you need to pop at all so you don't hit the coping (if you're trying to get back in)?

When I skied pipe to get over the coping and on the top of the deck I would sort of absorb the top of the lip and keep a ton of forward pressure in my boots. Although I was never going big enough to clear the deck. But in the video it looks like Bobby is hitting the part of the quarter pipe that is not as vertical as the rest of it. I could be wrong though.

As for your last question, no, you do not pop at the top of the wall. You want to pump through the transition and sort of be standing up by the top of the wall. If you physically pop you will end up landing pretty low and you wont be able to carry your speed.

^You absolutely pop in pipe. Sometimes if its really very you kinda pop up more than out, but most pipes require some pop to stay in.
