Picture comment notifications

I just find it annoying how you never know if anyone has posted on a photo of yours unless you check it specifically. As well as when you comment on someone else's video or picture and you have totally forgotten about it before they have responded to it. Therefore I am suggesting something similar to facebook where it will send you a PM'ed response saying "so and so commented on you picture (contained link)". You would then be able to respond to these comments much quicker where i know in the past it has taken months if not even years for some people to respond to others. I think this would also draw more people into the picture section and get more user interaction affiliated with this change.
Just a suggestion, what do you guys think?

Actually, the general response for getting notifications on pictures, videos, blogs and feedback has been yes. As far as getting notifications pertaining to threads, that's no.
 
boom. who cares if someone commented on your picture. just check your pictures every now and then, this isn't some damned myspace website
 
You should have The possibility to Press a link, so if someone responds The thread you would be notificated
 
I like this idea too. I usually just browse through my pics/vids if I recently posted one to see if someone commented, but sometimes people comment on older stuff which would be nice to know about.
 
Yeah, I'll check my pictures randomly too see if someone has commented but it would be nice to know if people comment on some of your older stuff as he said. I think it would be a good idea to have some sort of notification system for this.
