Pics of your Toyota pickups

Is it me or does everyone with a new or suped up Toyota truck have a beard, beanie or Patagonia flat brim hat, and wear flannels and silicone wedding rings? Dog in the back and equally hipster looking spouse sitting shotgun on their way to an Instagram shoot. Every state, every city. All the same.

Don't get me wrong, the trucks are beautiful but am I crazy? Feels like a less obnoxious Jeep or Subaru cult.

Probably put the runner up for auction this year it’s getting zero use with two kids in car seats. Probably worth more than the Porsche by now anyway. The Tacoma is just a daily workhorse they built a really good truck in that era- the Vanagon wasn’t ever really mine we owned a share of it at the time of this pic but that was a dumb agreement don’t try to own half a car.

This was back before I had kids and would do crazy shit like keep my cars clean in my spare time and take them to fancy auto salons instead of giving all my checks to daycare.

This was my taco when i lived in ak. Beat the ever living fuck out of it and on a particularly silent night, you could hear it rust. But I miss it and it never let me down. Have a 3rd gen 4runner now but really miss having a pickup.

That runner will go for an absurd amount. Wish I could keep my stuff that clean and straight.

Just bought this one a couple weeks ago. Still ironing out some wrinkles. I got a little look at the timing belt and it looks okay, might still bring it in and have it done for peace of mind. Will need tires sooner than later as well and an exhaust. It's name is Zanzabar thanks to [tag=278312]@MichiganCatFart[/tag]

If buying a brand new truck wasn't such a terrible decision financially I'd love to cop the new tundra

Lucky I got this 2016 with 40k on it in 2020 when the prices were still normal

the fire truck one is badass. Can you actually sit in the backseat ? Or is it too small

The back seat is huge. It's a Toyota Dyna so it's like a mid-size van chassis but heavy-duty. It's basically the same length as my old 2017 Tacoma dual cab short bed bumper to bumper. The truck seats five adults, leg room for the driver is limited, and there's "to" for a child or small adult in the middle of the front bench seat but it makes it difficult to shift if occupied.

A history...

I wanna get a HiAce firetruck so bad to convert into a plow/work rig

Do it. I think shipping rates have come down a lot recently. The one i have (Dyna) is a 1998 so would potentially be possible to import into the US depending on what state you're in?

Why tho (serious question)

He wants to convert one to a plow/work rig.

I got one because it's easy to park, can haul as much as a full size pickup, can seat 5 (or 6) and it cost about as much as a clapped out ranger with 10x the mileage.

But can they go over 45mph

It'll do 120km/h for short periods. Cruise at 110, though much of that limited top speed is due to the low gear ratio in the 4WD models. It's not a Kei truck with a tiny 650cc engine, it's a 2.8L Diesel. I know some people swap the final drive ratios for better highway drivability. I live and work in the city, and if I'm going out of town I can either not be in a hurry or use our other car.

I miss my old 3rd gen:

I don't have any pics, but now I've got a 4th gen Sport. Lots of miles, but still breaking in. Planning on a a few mods this summer. Don't need it to do any serious off roading, but it needs to survive regular shuttle laps on logging roads.

Mine has had a battery draw that after a couple days leaves it dead, so it's already going into the shop, might end up just biting the bullet and having the timing belt and ball joints done too and get it all out of the way.
