Picked up a 60d

My first Dslr other then a t2i I borrowed for about a week. am going to take it out to film tomorrow and just wanted to ask what some good settings to start from and play around with are for a flat light kinda powder day, and also for a sunny park day. I realize it is all about preferences but Just a good place to start for video as far as shutter speed, aperture, iso, etc.
Also In order to pick the manual settings for the Video do I change them in the "M" setting on the wheel , and then move it over to video?
