I went to New Mexico backpacking in 2011 for 10 days, and being from North Carolina that was pretty interesting. Looking to find another place to travel, in country or out of country.

Doesn't necessarily have to be skiing or in winter. I'm down for frontcountry or backcountry places.

Help me choose NS!

Huh, never heard that. Sister is going to Zimbabwe this summer, and my uncle went to Kenya (and said it was violent) but that sounds promising since I love backpacking

Try snorkeling/Diving at Ambergris Caye, Belize. Shit is prime. I snorkled in Hawaii and it didnt even compare to Belize. They have a ton of culture and a nice night life down there too. Not expensive either.

agreed with the croatia bit. Do a backpacking/bussing/train trip up the Adriatic Coast. So much crazy stuff to see over there and cheep as shit as far as europe goes. The entire coast is pretty safe too. Bosnia is the only semi sketchy place and you can avoid barely by doing Montenegro to Croatia. Really though... Greece -> Albania -> Montenegro -> Croatia, then take a train and fly out of Austria.

Montenegro is 100% on my places to travel to list.

Just curious, where did you go in NM?

You could go to southwestern CO and Eastern UT. So much cool stuff there like the black canyon of the gunnison and the canyon lands. You could pretty much go anytime, ski the San Juans and Elks in winter or bike all around Moab and cliff jump at Lake Powell in the summer.

galapagos islands if you have the money for airfare and are fluent in spanish. i spent 2.5 weeks there this past summer and that place is gorgeous

What kind of place are you looking to go to? What's your budget? Travelling alone or with someone else? Are you looking for more of a hotel or camping kind of trip?

Fly to Paris and get a rail pass and check out Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. I went and packed around for 2 weeks and it was awesome. You can get round trip tickets from Chicago for around 450-500 and just stay in Hostels or camp and you could probably do the whole trip for around 1200, I did.

I'd love to see where you can get a round trip from the states to Paris ( or anywhere in Europe for that matter) round trip, with fees an the likes for 500$ or under.

Not trying to thread jack but anyone have suggestions for the US and possibly Canada?

Thinking about packing up my truck and living out of it for a few weeks this summer, if not now cause I'm currently job-less
