Photoshop Question!!

Hey guys. So im new to photoshop and messing around with it to get familiar with it. In the photoshop tanner hall thread there was a picture where they made him black. I was wondering how to do that. Like make a person look legitly black, or any other color for that matter. +karma for help. thanks alot
 
by using your hue and saturation.. and the levels you can make your picture blacker and look at him as you do it then select those layers and use the black paint tool and conceal your effects everywhere but the face
 
make sure you use an adjustment layer so if you mess up you can fine tune it to how you would like it to look.
