It's a process called layer masking. You pile up each photo on top of each other and "mask" everything but the skier in each layer.

If you have photoshop and were wanting more help lemme know.

important to know how to do it on the camera end as well or else it won;'t turn out that well
but in photoshop use the pen toll and doodle your way around the skier and then go to the paths palette its like an option on the layers palette and then click the "make path a selection" button or something really close to that now you have the skier selected and you can paste it into the first frame....do this untill you have every frame pasted onto one frame YAY

what does he do? he has some hdr shots, what you do there is take 3 or more pics of the same exact thing with the cam in the same place but at different exposures and then you combine those to get an awesome looking product

ummm just take lots of pictures and classes and stuff?
photography takes tons of experience and time, there's no formula to taking good pics, just learn what you can about composition, learn how to use your camera, and then take lots of picsit's a huge learning curve which i am currently at the bottom of....

when shooting a tripod is needed, without it you will need to have some asian skillz at photoshop to even make it half dece.

oh and lock the tripod dont move it at all. if you can use a remote shutter release to reduce camera movement.
