Photography Backpack

I need a backpack for my T3i with 4 lenses and maybe a strap for tripod. This doesn't necessarily need to be for skiing with, more just for carrying. Decent looks of the pack would be nice too.

+k for good help

Thanks

i use a dakine sequence, things i love about it:

ski straps

rain cover

doesn't look like a photo bag

many pockets

removable photo block

classic dakine build quality

I've been using a canon insert in my dakine heli dlx pro. Works great but I wouldn't recommend using a water bladder with that. Actually insert is the wrong term. It's a case in it's own right that I basically jus slide into the backpack if that makes sense? Never took a tripod with me but I gotta imagine the ski strap would work fine for that.

F-stop kenti and guru are really nice packs if you don't have a lot of gear, but they go for $250+. You also have to buy an internal camera unit. ICU's come in many different depth's/sizes/and prices. But whats great about the ICU is if theres extra space in the pack you can put other stuff in there, or just take the ICU out and use it as a regular bag.

yeah it seems like people really like those, i was looking at those recently definitely cool, but yeah pricey. Seems like the quality is worth it though.

Thanks man

Their just a lot more versatile that a lot of camera bags cus you can actually put other things in them. Quality is top notch. I will probably buy one this winter, once I get my strobist setup I'm going to have to bring both my small backpacks and that won't fly.

dakine is good, another vote for them. i use a mission photo which is just a slightly smaller version of the sequence. it fits all my gear fine (7D, 70-200 f/2.8, 50 f/1.8, tokina 10-17, 2 vivitar 285 HV + alienbess cybersync setup + tons of other little things, 2 light stands 1 monopod 1 tripod). i personally feel the sequence is a little big which is why i went with the mission photo but you cant go wrong with either.

heres a picture of what the inside of my pack looks like with most gear

I've heard others comment on the sequence being "big", but when compared to say an f-stop, its about the same size. Plus some of it's features are a must for being a skier in the NW (ski straps for long hikes, rain cover, extra pockets for non photo stuff, etc)

yeah the mission has all those things too just in a slightly smaller package. like i said you cant really go wrong with either. i was like 5'2 120lbs when i bought mine so that also contributed to why i went with the mission photo.

I have a lowe pro mini trekkar to hold a bronica sq-ai with an 80 attached, their hoods,go pro and it's according stuff, film, thats it really. It hold everything well, but it's an awkwardly shaped bag, it's like a big cube on your back. but it's nicely padded to protect stuff. bit hard on your back though. theres a spot for a tripod on the bottom.
