PHOTOGRAPHERS. Why do you have the camera you have?

Oh I had banding, but if you know how to position the rider, light, and band the right way you can get away with it. I'm still stuck at 1/200 with cybersyncs...

Haha yeah I'm pretty stoked/grateful that it happened, out of nowhere too. Insane nice of her.

I can sync up to 1/320 with my cybersyncs, with only a little bit of banding right on the edge, it's tight!

Big and small, 35mm is best:

And the SX 70:

T3i plus kit lens and canon 50 mm f1.8

Looking to replace my 18-55 for something.else , any ideas? I looked in the tamron 17-50

I haven't shot much NIght Photography, But when you guys do, do you just have one of the industrial halogen super bright lights? Cause my Speedlite blinds the skiers... Which is shitty.

Speedlights and strobes. Try to position them in a way they wont blind the rider, and dont be afraid to get creative!

Ideally, 3 different sources of light. Though I usually end up with two due to time/space constraints. Usually it's my Paul Buff Einstein as a main light, with a Yongnuo YN560 Speedlight as a fill, then another YN560 or Sunpak 555 as a rim/backlight. If i'm in a good location, I'll light up the scene more with a 4th light (sometimes gelled)

Yes! That was posted right before I got it.

Bronica SQ-A with loads of goodies. Awesome cam, can't wait to send off a few rolls!

We Bronica users are bro-like in a way. When we encounter each other in the wild we give a nod of mutual approval.

Not sure how big of difference it is with Canon but with my Nikons I can shoot Alienbee B1600's ( best for hypersynce due to longer flash duration, its backwards and always confuses me) and I can get all the way up to 1/8000s (obviously with loss of light due to cutting off the flash more and more) with no banding without even changing my hypersync settings on flex TT5's

Same with RF film-shooters too. It's so funny that whe you see someone's holding an RF and he sees you are, you just look up and nod.

Just found this in the attic: Olympus XA1

Fuck everything digital and with settings, this is the purest form of photography.

A 35mm F4.0 lens and a shutter button transferring an image on 35mm film.

Also crazy small:

Such a sweet little camera. My mother has an old XA2 that's really sweet... the XA1 is pretty sweet with the selenium meter and all.

I still want an Olympus XA... straight up mini rangefinder with the same XA feel and an even sharper lens. Soo rad.

XA is really cool only the focus throw is really short. And with the only grip on the focus being a little lever it can get annoying.

I also found the flash but forgot to put it on for that picture above, with the sideflash attached it's still less wide then the body of the Nikon F.

To mainstream for me.

Also just found a Konica C35 V.

It's pretending to be a rangefinder. But despite the focussing ring and bright viewfinder with framelines it isn't.

Scale focus only....derp.gif

I can tell if you're trolling or really that hip. Judging off of your posts it could be either

With a bunch of lenses cause I need something to kill all this film with.

Cause the space on this 16GB card isn't going to waste itself.

Nikon D7000 - best bang-for-buck image quality in a DSLR.

Olympus PEN E-P3 - needed a compact camera, and wanted compact tele lenses with it for skiing. This rules out the NEX, EOS-M, X, etc... Between Olympus and a Nikon 1, Olympus wins for me.

I use the AB1600 (Fill) also with my Ranger (Key) but the reason I need a higher sync speed Jamie is so I can use a larger aperture so I am not stuck with f/8 all the time. Plus if there is enough light for the riders to see there is also enough light to cause ghosting at night especially with a slow shutter like 1/250.

Remove Canon 10D and insert 20D into my camera collection.

Upgrading my backup body this week. Gives me the same 5fps continuous burst on both of my bodies.
