Phish vs. Trey

What do you guys think? Trey is better solo or phish is better as a band? I think that trey has become a much better musician since he left phish. His style has become very reminiscent of the great guitar gods of the world. Don't get me wrong, Phish is awesome but I think I would rather go to a Trey concert than a Phish concert.

Anyone going to trey oct. 22 at memorial auditorium in Burlington?

yeah i believe trey progressed a lot as a musician, but i prefer phish myself. i read an interview with trey and he said that he wanted to play with a big band for a long time, so i guess it was good for him. im listening to a recording of trey at the jammys on jamnation right now.

i like treys solo stuff but not as much as the band together. i think that they play really good together

I like phish better. Trey solo is pretty amazing I just dont like the way it sounds as much.

cause gordon plays it sometimes. the story goes that he was drunk and made a bet that he could make an insturment(sp?) out of anything in the room. someone said a vacum cleaner and he just used it on different things to make different noises

I didnt like the Trey album very much, phish all together is the best.

Holy Shit! I just went to Trey last night, the BEST concert I have ever been to. It was at the memorial auditorium in Burlington. Trey was so amazing, he played 4 brand new songs, which are completely unreleased. He played 2-3 Phish tunes, which was awesome cause he didn't play any the last time I saw him. The first song of the 2nd set Trey and his band jammed 'Night Speaks to a Woman' for about 25 minutes.

The last song of the first set (of 2 sets), micheal franti and spearhead walk out, greatest thing ever, trey and his band and spearhead and franti jammed out to Bob Marley's classic 'Small Axe'. Spearhead and Franti busted out an amazing reggae freestyle, it was so chill. The whole building was clambaked, security was cool, that was also a plus. They would see someone smokin some crazy reefer and say nothing more than 'no smoking in the building', same exact thing they said to people smoking cigarettes, haha what a country.

Probably even better than spearhead and franti coming out was the encore. After ten minutes of cheering and clapping waiting for trey to come out we got what we were all hoping for; Trey walks out with Page McConnell, keyboardist of Phish. They totally rocked out to 'First Tube' (one of the greatest Phish songs ever) for about 15 minutes.

This was by far the best concert I've ever been to and one of the best nights of my life. Some of Trey's guitar sounded soooo sooo much like Jerry's guitar at parts, it was classic. You could close your eyes and you couldn't tell the difference between The Dead and Trey's band. Also, Trey's new stuff was very cool as well, especially 'Curluse Call'. What a great way to kick of Trey's fall tour.
