Phelps #7

yea i watched it on cbc, SUCH bullshit theres no way he won that. the protest better win. dont get me wrong, I wanted him to win, but he just didnt. fucking chinese are rigging everything in these olympics. fucking chinese guy held another boxer for about 20 seconds and no foul was called. if it had been, he would have lost. soooo gay. well thats my rant.

possible, but they showed the replay like 10 times and I really dont think so. given, they wouldnt show the underwater view but it was pretty clear.

dude there isnt really a dispute to it. its a sensor that goes off. i understand that it would make sense for the chinese to rig it or whatever, but they didnt. either way the best thing for swimming as a whole (really think about that) would be for phelps to lose this. that way in 4 years he can give it another shot and it will be just as/if not more than impressive.

Don't they use touch sensitive pads to get the times? I could be wrong, but if that's the case, how can you argue it?

they are touch sensitive pads, and the ones in the olympics are top of the line.

i saw the replay on TV in super slow mo and it was quite obvious that Phelps won.

alright you win i didnt see it in the hour i was watching, but maybe nbc covered it or something. and as far as the sensors are concerned, they do malfunction, Ive finished the mile with no time because i didnt hit it hard enough or something, thats why the manual timers are even on deck. but anyways, i guess underwater proves me wrong, i was upset because i figured it was the doing of the chinese. and as far as how could they rig it, it wouldnt be hard, those sensors are connected to a computer system, you could make a pretty simple program like if his lane lost by less than .1 change it to .01 win but whatever, this is just paranoia after watching some 12 year olds win gymnastics

The chinese have nothing to do with the judging, and the IOC takes over once the games begin, and if the IOC is corrupt, then we should just give up on the games entirely

heeeeey i said i was wrongfully paranoid, but yes i do think the ioc is comprised of people who are prone to corruption, especially by large sums of money from the chinese govt/their families being held hostage by the chinese govt. that might just be the paranoia and wine talking though. call me crazy, dont worry I already know.

well, though what i said should still mean something, i just found out that apparently in 2002, a bunch of members were... expelled for taking bribes during the bid to hold the games. SO, who knows where the olympics is at, but at least we get to watch commercials about banks giving money to athletes for our country's ego!

first there is no way that they knew it was going to be that close in the first place in order to plan something, second the times are up the second the race is over. thats why they look at the scoreboard. there is absolutely no way it was rigged. malfunction, maybe, rigged, no way.

alright, nbc just aired it, so in all the above-water shots (all cbc showed) it still looks like the serb wins, but in the underwater shot you can see phelps pull it out. i misjudged the character of the chinese nation and of the ioc in this instance, and i am glad that he legitimately won

yeah, in tha rules you have to activate it, so like you could have won but not hit tha pad hard enough, therefore, YOU LOSE

so you gotta really hit that thing, our highschool ones sucked so in middle school swimming, i'd swim straight into it, give it a lil' punch, but i suspect tha olympic ones are better and i would think be more sensitive

I bet when you were wrtiting this you were thinking: "Fuck yeah I'm going to completely own this kid! HA!"

But if you read the thread, you would have seen that he already apologized 3 times I believe?

i was gonna say what camera are u lookin at. the slow motion one from above records at the speed needed, but its so far away u cant really tell. the underwater one shows that he did.

the chinese cant rig it

its not like there r only chinese officials and judges

all the judges are from different countries
