It would be cool if 4Frnt picked him up since they got CR, but they might not have the money he wants. That would be cool though.
 
i really hope nobody picks him up. i think he seems like a douche and he really comes off that way, and the whole credit car thing was not helping that. i dont think hes anygood for the ski comunity.
 
one trick of his sticks in my mind..... and im sure some other pro would have invented that anyways. hes a jack ass. period.
 
watch war and try to tell me that his cab right nine into pow was not progression. seemed legit to me. i'm just sayin you can't hate on someone who's been a big player in the game as long as peter. sure maybe he's a dick or something i don't know, i've never met him, but his skiing is phenominal and he definatly deserves a ski sponsor.
 
ok ill agree, he can ski. but if i was an owner of a company, skiing wouldnt be the only thing, if they were a complete dick or stole somebodys credit card, they wouldnt be on my team, maybe its just be but that doesnt seem like good publisty for a company.
 
that makes sense but at the same time how many kids do you think watch peter ski and say damn this guy is lame, he steals credit cards. for the most part kids don't know about that stuff and they just think that peter's a dope skier and he rides dope skis making the kids want what peter's riding. i think it really just comes down to that, so if i was a manager i would definatly consider peter. but you know if he can't find a sponsor all he really has to do is kill some people and bam he's on ninth.
 
everyone makes mistakes. maybe not some that big, but regardless it doesnt mean the guy doesnt deserve another chance, he's got some quirks, but dont we all? We're not human if we don't. The guy does a ton for the progression of the sport, a double flip in the pipe, you cant deny it. Remember back in the day how hard he would go out and push to win a bronze in the X pipe a few years back. That was one of the most inspirational things for me to watch as i became a skier. Yeah he changed, but what ever, i've met peter, he was super nice and down to earth around me. I dont support some of the things he's done, but i do think the kid deserves to ski for someone whomever it may be.
 
Yet again, newschoolers manages to be pricks to people that they don't even know. I don't know him, but hes better than 90& of the people on this site at skiing. So let him be. All pro skiers just want to have fun. And when they do, they get so much shit for it. Whether its Tanner or Peter or whoever. Just live and let live. Stop givin everybody shit and go fucking skiing. Maybe someday, you will be in their position and get ripped on a shitload by kids you dont know or havn't met. mmmm sounds like a blast.

Petey is the man i dont understand why anybody hates him hes just out here to ski and have a good time (drink).
 
after the credit card thing he is now my hero. I am going to try and be like him in every way

because that affects the way I ski, and what skis I want.
 
that was similar to my first impression of him but once i started watching and reading more about him it completely changed. he actually seems like a really chill guy and hes a nasty skier. did you read the freeskier article/interview about him? if not you should.
 
who cares if he stole someones credit card sometimes people make mistakes... chances are half of you doggin him have done something stupid in your life too just no one knows about it because you dont get as much publicity as him, i personally think his segment in yeah dude was one of the best.
 
first if he stole my credit card i would kick the shit out of him, he is a spoiled dick and its good that he is off , that team is full of spoiled ass fags anyway, fuck salomon.
 
yea he dissed solomon in the freeskier interview saying thier skiis were always delaming and falling apart when he was in the x games and they wouldnt give him a new pair because they thought he was selling them.

What the fuck do you expect from him hes in fucking college and hes having fun. Hes a very well rounded skier and kills rails and bc kickers. Hes got mad style and hes def pushing the sport in a positive direction. Yea hes fucked up and done some stupid shit but you cant hate on someone whos got talent like that.
 
Basing your opinion on "the way he comes off" immediatly voids your opinion. You take a few glances and make a negative judgement.

Unless you have met someone and know them pretty well, I'd say its unfair to talk shit.

what if in the past, one of the skiers from IDEA were to say, get a DUI. or a crash a rental car in Europe while driving drunk and recklessly, or break into the bar at Sunday River during a photoshoot and steal a bunch of liquor (and then brag about it).

that's some naughty shit right there.

should they have been dropped by their sponsors and pushed out of the spotlight? or should they have been allowed to grow up and continue progressing the sport?

Anyway, this thread disgusts me. Some still love Peter Olenick even though he's a shifty guy that does the same trick over and over. If having a few drinks and hucking yourself, lucky to land, is progressing skiing, then I quit. He's a pipe jock.

 
I would define a "true hipster" (haha) as someone that is actually unique instead of following subtle trends. Anyway, it's a stupid word and it doesn't pertain to the thread.

As for your Idea experiment, I don't think should be considered because you can't compare any of those guys to Olenick. Olenick doesn't deserve that.

does every person that sees him and buys skis meet him? ill agree, im judging someone i have never met. but not everybody meets him. he is a cool guy thats good, but the only things that stick in my mind are negatives. maybe not every judges a ski by the people that ride them, but alot of people do ( 9th for an example)
 
Dude you should probably at least meet the guy before you trash him.
