Perisher

Did the pro skier/snowboarder migration to Perisher not happen this year? I haven't seen any posts from riders at that place, which is certainly a big change from the past few seasons.

It happened. One Hit Wonder @ Thredbo and Jossi Wells invitational at Cardies went off.

I'm not asking about One Hit Wonder, Thredbo or JWI.... very aware of all of that.

I am wondering if any pros went to Perisher, as they have done in years past, and if not than why?

you just quoted the answer to your questions...

Cardona had a stop on the world cup circuit this year, so a lot of them turned up with national teams just for that event. Im guessing some of them turned that into an extended stay for JWI etc. rather than jumping around countries. Not sure if Perisher had a comp but that seemed why most of them were here. Cardy's also has a full size pipe not sure how that compares to Perisher either but a bunch seemed to turn up for that too.

Then maybe you're also aware that Thredbo and Perisher are a mere 60km's apart?

I'll ask again. Do you know if any pro skiers or snowboarders have been riding at Perisher lately, as they have all done for the past few years. If not, than do you know why?

No, I didn't know that fact about the distance between two resorts. Thanks for enlightening me. Perisher always looks so sweet... do you know why they didn't travel 60km and go to Perisher like they have in years past?

I know that a few snowboarders had been riding perisher - marcus kleveland and a few others. Didn't really hear too much about skiers, except one hit wonder at Thredbo.

I thought it was super strange that not many pro's came over (well if they did it wasn't publicized at all), considering the amount of snow we got this season. NZ had an absolute terrible year and a few pro's were there....

Unlikely but - possibly a few pro's had obligations to go to NZ (Cardrona) before all the snow fell in Australia.

I was down at Perisher a few weeks ago. They had awesome spring conditions with must of the mountain open. I think I saw Antii Ollila down there one day but can confirm no pros other than Rus Henshaw were around to my knowledge.

I ski Perisher every weekend. Don't take much notice whether the pros are there or not. Check out Perisher parks Instagram it will give you an idea.
