Perisher

Yo guys,

So my buddy and I are thinking of a perisher trip this summer (around August 1st). Im wondering if there is anyone from this site with good details to help us plan the best way possible. It seems that lift tickets are extremely expensive, like $688 for 7 days, and seasons passes like $875 or something like that. If we are going for a month is there any better passes or hookups we should know about? Also do any of u dope skiers have rooms for rent in Jindabyne, this seems to be the place to live for skiing Perisher, let us know. If u have any other tips or tricks surrounding Perisher we would love to know(I.E. best bars, clubs, dope spots to visit, living potentials?) We are from Whistler and pretty much have no clue what were getting into.

Thanks in advance guys.

Perisher should have a very good park by the time you get there, but the pass is ridiculously expensive. Its been a good start to the season so hopefully itll be worth it. Best bet would be to buy epic pass and get to as many partner resorts as possible haha. Otherwise buy early now and save, plus you'd get a free half day as well if you pay for more than 3 days skiing.

Nightlife in Perisher sucks, there isn't a village, but Jindy gets pretty loose during the season. If you wanna party and throw down on the mountain your best bet is checking our Thredbo, nightlife can get very wild there.

My advice would also be to try and go a little later in August. Perisher front valley park gets so good towards the middle of Spring, and no doubt you'll be doing laps with some of the big dogs if you go than

Thredbo night life sucks .. Unless there is an event on.. The best time to go to Perisher is the last 2 weeks of August and 1st 2 weeks of September. If you need any more info on hostels, hacks and advice PM me I will happily answer your questions.

Thank you good man

Dude my advice would be to skip Perisher and head down to Wanaka/Queenstown; Although perisher is developing its park big time the scene is just so much more developed in NZ. Perisher is super warm and super remote. Thats why lift passes are so expensive, NZ is much cheaper and more fun!

sounds like a dope trip OP ill be home all summer sitting on thumb saving for next season

summer bump for titties ass trip

The best park skiing at perisher/thredbo is mid August to mid September. The only advice I'm gonna say is I recommend you go a bit later.

Why is this? 3 people have said this so it must be pretty accurate. Is the park fully developed then, are snow conditions better? According to wikipedia, August and September receive the most precipitation, but is the weather still best that time of year?

In my experience it's when the park is fully developed as you said and the snow+weather conditions are great for park riding. In June to July the Front Valley park (the one in Slvsh games) is epic but not fully formed and the lift lines can be crowded. After September the snow starts melting away and the features on Front Valley have to be cut down a bit. The season finishes in October. Front Valley is for the biggest features. If you want a medium park Leichardt is perfect right now.
