Perfect opening sat!!

It's not cold enough yet. And it's going to take a lot of work to get open by Saturday, just saying.

Yes they did, and yes they are. Snow's pretty thin though. Need tonight and tomorrow night to be really good, which they should be. As far as I know, the official decision is being made sometime tomorrow, so hope it gets really cold, is clear and calm tonight, and stays cold for a while tomorrow.

^hype hype hype. any idea if there will be bonus days this weekend if they do in fact open on saturday? gonna try and bring a crew down if they do

hype hype hype hype hype. i was thinking they wouldnt make it in time for the weekend, but they definitely have the weather to churn snow for the next few days. ITS SKI SEASON

Lots of clouds tonight. Holds in heat and doesn't lead to really good snow making, but looking at the cams its not looking too terrible. We'll see in the morning I guess.

"SNOWMAKING UPDATE FOR THURSDAY, DEC 2[/b]We made some snow in the overnight last night but honestly it was not much. The sky stayed cloudy and it just didn't get very cold, upper twenties all night. There is snow in the forecast but we need at least one more good night of snowmaking to build a base to make the little natural snow that is forecast skiable! We are hoping Thursday night into Friday morning provides us with enough hours of cold to get the base we need built for the weekend. We won't be able to make a determination as to wheather we can get some of the area open for this weekend until late in the day on Friday. Say tuned.Next week looks great, and we should be able to have extended periods of snowmaking. This weekend looks questionable, but next weekend we are confident that we will be able to open with significant terrain and snow cover!"

It's forecast 28 but the valley gets colder tonight will be the night to get it open it's all covered went past it today looks great

And if I'm wrong, I'm wrong, and that's awesome, I'll be just as stoked as anyone to ski. But look at Audition, theres nothing there.

was down there today and with no snow tonight there is 0% chance of opening this weekend and exact words out of a cat driver when asked how it looked out here they he said crappy

i heard some rumor that there might be a rail jam even though they arent open any chance of that? if you look at audition they smoothed out like a path down the middle

It was being considered, but there's just not enough snow to make it work. The path is where they had to push snow to link together the snowmaking piles when they pushed them all out.

fail.

and on top of that fail, fedex has fucking lost my bindings that were supposed to arrive last week... this is awesome.

Email says they might open thursday?

HYPE HYPE HYPE

on a side note, if anyone has any boots for sale, I'll buy them. 28-29 mondo

Yeah oh well it would have been open of it fucking got cold enough last night oh well now we got to wait another week

It'll hopefully be that much sicker though, because there looks to be some pretty prime weather coming up. Like a couple days where the high is 28, which could potentially lead to snowmaking all day, and a much sicker set up then we would have been able to throw together for today. My fingers are certainly crossed.

I don't care if it's sick just want to ski guess I'm going to have to pull out the drop in hit some fresh snow in the backyard

Maybe too thin, but I also thought it might be they didn't want to spend time putting in rails, only to take them out again shortly once the temps drop tomorrow.

I agree with this, it takes a lot more time than you kids think to set rails, only to have to un-dig them all again and move them so they don't get buried.
And if you really wanna hit a rail, go do an urban. We did just get dumped(ish) on ha.

um can someone answer why a season pass to PNS is DOUBLE what i pay for a pass good at breck keystone and abasin? absolutly fuckin rediculous that its 560$ to ski unlimited, and then they make those little scams where there are lower tiers, which only allow you to ski monday-thursday, and after 530 on sunday. i must be missing something...

its called business. If you wait til peak times, you pay alot more. I agree its expensive but if you are buying a pass why wouldnt you buy it earlier? youre just throwing money out the window

Plus in Colorado you're paying 70-80 bucks for a lift ticket if you don't buy a pass, so they make a ton off of tourists and can afford to offer awesome pass deals like that. If you buy your pass in the summer it's only around $330, still not the cheapest, but significantly better than $560 or whatever they are right now. Your best bet would be to look into a ski club. They tend to get good deals on passes that are pretty close to the summer price. West SIde Ski Club is one of the bigger ones and they usually take anyone, so maybe see if you can get in contact with them/someone affiliated with them at all.
And if the forecast that I'm looking at holds up, there's the potential for something like 50-60 straight hours of snowmaking coming up. Opening day should be real legit. Guns are on now, and it's going to get pretty cold tonight.

i was intending on spending my whole winter, and every one after it, in Colorado up until about a month ago. but now i must come back to ohio

Idk if there will be enough snow, imo there will be but anways pns should try and open with a jump. Would be pretty sick to open with a kicker, something that I have never seen them do before.

I think they'll probably stick with Thursday just because they can take advantage of making snow for around 3 days straight. They're making ridiculous amounts of snow right now if you look at the cams, and I would think they would want to keep doing that for as long as possible.
