People who don't ski, but say "jib"

jib is a code word for methamphetamine according to a commercial on tv

so maybe that is what they are talking about....

does it really matter though?
 
A guy I know does film, and he puts a camera on the end of a weighted metal pole and is able to scan and record things like concerts etc... But it's called a jib, and that's correct, I think.

well if you want to ski you ski... if you want to jib than you ski and then jib... so your point is irrelevant.... and furthermore your name has JIB in it so.....

Andreas Håtveit self said that "jibbing" is a stupid word for skiing, because jibbing is a term in sailing, and I'm pretty sure the sailers had the copyright on the word before us. (Andreas Håtveit is perfect btw, and what he says should be correct, and we should behave after what he has said)
 
Your a little to worried about lingo dude... because you can snowboard/skateboard/surf/aggressive inline/bike/ski/parkour/own soap shoes etc and still say jib.....

jib is just a word you cares who says it. I f a lot people start to say we can just say another word.

I think jib is a common work in all sports where you can rail slide. And sketchy is not just a skiing-only word. Its been around a long ass time but just started regaining popularity a few years ago. People stopped saying gnarly for a few years, but its back. I think we bring back "boss".

 
don't automatically assume that just because skiers say something that they came up with it.people said jib in the context we use it before skiers started using it.
 
I had a friend who was a girl in High School that didn't ski but thought that it was called "jabbing" so she would say, "are you going jabbing tonight"?

And what the hell is wrong with that Asian country called Japan? Are they seriously not understanding that skiers used the word for a grab long before them? Did they take it from us on purpose !???

if u read through the replies you would know that this same info was posted like 15 times....also i dont really care who uses terms like these but i hate when people try to copy the way that you talk by using the same words or slang
 
I say skiing, if im doing rails and boxs in the run i say jib run, if im doing jumps i say im jumping.
 
i think its funny when my parents dont know what we're doing when we snowskate and ski in the backyard and so just refer to it the way we do, which is shredding usually. so my dad will be like are you and your friends gonna shred tonight? and im like haha yeah
