when i was in high school i had a sick dark green forum beanie with a little brim on it (gift from my cool ass grandmother) and it got jacked from my bag while we were shredding. like 2 years later i saw this kid at school wearing it and called him out. he actually just handed it back to me. not long after, he got in a bad car accident and has seizures now. not sure the punishment fit the crime.

It’s immoral to steal, period. Loss prevention is a big deal and the margins on products are probably smaller than you think in many cases (recouping the lost revenue is a challenge). Also, what if you stole something from a business and then an employee got fired for it?

I had some sick black kincos that were ski specific. They had the string for your wrists (drawing a blank on what thats called) and a red and black kinco carabiner that had a bottle opener on it. Set it down on the paper towel dispenser and took a quick poo ? and then when I came out they were gone. And it wasnt like a good samaritan brought them to lost and found or anything cause i checked for multiple days after that. Fuckin bastards.

And no, someone stealing resort food does not directly harm me. At the end of the day theft is an unfortunate downside of doing business. That said, resorts aren't selling food at a loss so they have to work the cost of the stolen food back into the price. Inevitably, that $5 pack of skittles I bought has to cover your ass because you found it insufferable to pay but somehow still felt entitled to some rainbow goodness.
