People scared of setups

So I've had my setup for several years now. Over the years, only 3 or 4 people have been brave enough to hit it. I don't get it. There are a lot of park skiers in my area (I live 5 min from my local hill), but when I hit them up over the summer to ski, they're all like "Nah".

I mean, yeah it's brutal, but it's not that bad. Do any of you other setup owners experience the same shit? It's hard to stay motivated out there in the backyard alone.

Some people may not be as dedicated, and dont want to look silly. Lets be honest, skiing on turf and fence and pvc looks so funny to outsiders.

Im really lucky cause my brother is just as into it as me and he wants to sesh all the time.

I have found a few skiers dont like to do it as much, probably because when you first start its really hard to get used to it

That's a good point, I had never even thought of the idea that some people might feel self conscious about how bad they would be on a setup. I think part of the problem is that you have to be a competent park skier to get a lot out of a setup. That's a pretty legit setup that your brother is just as into it.

I'm going to find some people somehow. Went out on a limb and posted in regionals haha. Not something I would usually do.

My friends are a lot better than me at park, so i built a setup this summer so i could try and catchup to them, and theyve hit it a few times but never really seem that into it. Solo seshs arent that fun but if youre motivated you get a lot out of it

Some people are busy with other things in the summer. There's the people who ski in the winter, and the people who are addicted to skiing all year round.

I'd be all over your setup in a heartbeat if I lived anywhere near you. but for now my DIY aggressive skates will have to do the trick, I haven't inline skated before so I probably look more foolish than anyone skiing down turf and fence. I tried them out and went 3 feet before falling because I didn't know how to stop.

Just realized, I think the heat's an issue too. Is it stupid hot where you guys live? 90 deg + humidity here every day

Yea some summers we get upwards of 30 Celsius haha u have to put more water on like every 5 hits
