so many people r dying...one person at jiminypeak, one girl helicopted away from gore, one death at killington n then another forum said two at squaw valley

i can remember two winters i think like the 96/97 season and the 98/99 seaon where tahoe got masses of snow all at once... snowboarders were dying in treewells by the handfull. and that was just in tahoe... you gotta be carefull with all the new.

someone got heli-ed out of Gore, what i ski there everyweekend...when was this.....and yah jiminy and killington were sorry 2 say...but the skier/snowboarders fault, skiing out of their ability and/or on closed terrain...still really sad though

killington- the guy was an advanced skier he just hit and icy patrch got in the back seat and took a nice flight into snowmaking equipment..on friday a guy got pulled out of the trees off showcase i think and had to be heli lifted to a hospitral

anybody know what happened at jiminy...all i heard was it was this past sunday w/ some kids first time on a snowboard. a few ppl usually die at jiminy each year cuz they cut trails that are closed cuz they're mad icy

the one thing is that a magority of these deaths are by beginers and unexpirenced people. i dont think that most of us have to worry because we do know what we are able to do and understand the rules of the hill(or BC).

this just shows that what everyone is so horrified about is not the fact that people are dead, cause one of you might have brought up se Asia by now, no its the fact that these are skiiers... what a messed up society: wow a unknown skiier dies on a ski slope going really fast next to trees and loses control and hits one of em!! how tragic!!! forget the people relaxing on the beach and sipping coktails when a wave runs em over, no, they didn't die all cool like, on skis...

guys, just get used to the fact that peole die, even skiiers, and that the fact they are (were) skiiers shouldn't horrify you more than 150 000 asian people and tourists...

yeah 2 years ago some first timer went on a black run and got paralysed so they were gonna suspend the schools from going. All I can say is you dont control the elements, shit happens, you could die too next time you go up just by being badly hit by someone or falling of a cliff u didnt see. But lets stay positive and quit this thread, just be careful on the slopes.

yeah there have been alot of deaths and its sad. But from what i know the person at jiminy was a begginer snowboarder who was riding a trail he wasn't ready for went out of control and hit a tree and was killed. Everyone has to know their limitations it will keep them as well as others safe

Yeah man, those treetraps are sketchy! I had a run in with a bunch of those when i was in Jackson last week. It's always good to ski with other people that way when you fall and get stuck in random places, your friends can help get you out.

Also, i think a lot of people who die are people who arent that good at skiing and get themselves in over their heads.

just to add to the killy story, after he went into the ski equipment he slid down the woods trail next to the trail he fell on... all the way down. That trail was closed so thats prolly how people began to think he was skiing on a closed trail... he fell all the way down the woods trail... RIP

 
yeh thats great but why post this shit it just makes everyone feel bad. shit like this happens EVERY SEASON but people usually have the courtesy to keep it under the radar.
