PC question/thumb drive...

i put files that i want to make sure that i don't loose on my thumb drive incase i get a virus or something like that and I leave the thumb drive in all the time so i can update it whenever. this may be a really stupid question, but is it possible for a virus to get in there if it is always connected?
 
So as not to lose all of your valuable porn, I would 110% reccomend removal of the drive when not in use.
 
get two drives... or email important data to a gmail account... what do you have that is THAT valuable?
 
ya if its connected to the system its gonna be infected too. thats why you get an external USB drive and hook it up when a backup is needed of important stuff.
 
Get Deep Freeze to protect your pc from virus's and spyware. Or use Ghost to make an image. They won't protect you from virus's but they will help you get your pc back to normal quick. For virus's use AVG free edition, works great and it's free.
 
the simple answer is yes since its recognized as a drive it can become infected. Though it depends on the types of files which you are storing on it. Since generally you will only be using them to backup lets say school documents or you MP3s and other files which are not as prone to infection there is less chance of having those corrupted. Its the files on the drive which get corrupt, not the drive itself.
