PC park lift

So they took out three kings and i'm seeing if anyone has any further details on what they're planing on putting in. I'm assuming a high speed which would be sick but just seeing if anyone knows.

They have officially called it a high speed quad.

I have one of the chairs of 3 Kings /claim

ive heard high speed quad and a normal speed quad or triple. If its quad, people aren't gonna be able to ski after 3 hrs since you'll do 1000 runs.

Actually, I think you're right. It is a triple. I think its going to be high speed, but not Deer Valley high speed - more like significantly faster than the old lift.

I'm a lifty at pc, its gonna be a high speed quad starting where cobra dogs was last season. But it has a conveyor belt ramp instead of snow.

damn its gonna be the fastest park lap ever. stoked! i dare someone to lap it from 9am - whenever night skiing stops

well, it was 9 pm last year... so

I also heard that the pipe might be lit up for night riding this year. Hopefully that happens as well

you would do 1 million laps if its a high speed. Mammoth has a similar sized area for main park and that lap takes like 3 minutes its intense.

its too bad that no matter what park city does, a week into the season everyone here will be complaining about something.

its just to get onto the lift, it puts you up to speed where when the chair hits your it's just a small bump almost a smooth sit down, its nice.

my only complaint about moving to utah is gone, i thought it was gonna be harsh coming from the midwest (estimated time to the top 30 seconds) vs the normal long wait of bigger nicer parks, cant wait to hot lap the park all day

well i heard that the lift was going to go up a little bit higher too. so hopefully a bigger park and a faster lift. it's gonna be cool i guess...

Yeah, its suppose to go higher and then they're taking out some trees and making more room for a bigger park.

If the pipe gets lit that would be sick!! they might as well because most nights out of the week eagles lit for racers so its like 5 more lights they need. I wouldn't fuck around in that pipe at night though. soooo icy.

I'd almost rather have them beef up their lights now (like double them, they're mad dark) and keep the pipe dark. But, i also dont ride pipe.

Oh it's going down. I'll have to load my pockets with clif bars and red bull, but it should work. I predict 96 laps with no breaks. I'll bring a counter or something to keep track.

ya the chair is not gonna be a high speed quad.

just a quad.

but then again if you compare it to 3 kings a modern slow chair is a step up from what we had before.

Where did you hear this? I've only heard that it will be a high speed. I trust GratefulShred's lifty status in saying that it'll be a high speed, but I guess anything is an improvement.

my next-door neighbor has worked lift maintenance for over 20 years there. YES, they are putting in a high speed quad, but it will only be running under 50% speed, just like first time. Big waste of money if you ask me. If they are going to put in a high speed, why not make it a high speed.

Because it costs a lot less money than running it at 100%. most high speed quads aren't run at 100% anyway. First time is decently fast, im down for that on 3 kings, i was down with the slow two seater.

meh, it was about 2-3 mins too long. id rather chill a the top or bottom with all the homies.

K, that makes sense. First Time speed would be just fine on 3 Kings--it will still take significantly less time to get to the top. Only 109 days left now! Can't wait.

I'm from PC and i'm pretty sure the press release that Brieb posted was correct. Tyson, who cuts the pipe, was saying that the reason that they didn't go with a high speed chair was because with the number of kids that ride Pick a high speed quad would put too many kids through the park too quickly making it really difficult for park crew to keep up on filling in ruts and keeping the lips smooth.
