Recently after traveling more and more, to resorts out of state, I have realized that PC park doesn't suite me. I don't think we have any technical things and are jumps kinda stink. all this is my opionion.

a freind of mine stated his opion just like mine in an email to Park city mountain; telling them that of his dislike of the park city parks. He also pointed out how hard other park crews worked, not just once a day, but several times maintaining the lips to rails and the jumps. Now Jim Mangum instead of taking this like a man and shugging it off spent the day asking kids in the terrian parks who they thought this might be. my freind also sent the email from work so he tracked him down that way too. After Mangum found him he didn't just say hey I think we are doing a good job. He chewed him out for writing the letter and siad that he rubs a lot of people in the industry the wrong way.

Mangum made personal attackes on my freind for stating his opinnion about a park that isn't that great, and most of the people I talk to think it could be much better.

Whether or not you like pc park or not I urge everyone to email PC and say how stupid it was for the park designer/supervisor to chew someone out like that.

why did he send an annonomis email? does he not stand behind his sugestions. or coments. mangon took that personal, very personal. he was disapointed that your friend couldn't even put his name on the email. he has had nothing but great feedback and he hasn't really had any things poorly said about the parks untill this letter. mangon is a super chill guy, who will take in any sugestinons that those who ride pc have. anytime i talk to him he asks what all the skiers think and i tell him. sure there aren't tons of jibs in kings crown, but that park is jump based, not jib based that is to keep the gapers out and so that it would just flow. where else can you hit a line like kings crown that flows from top to bottem like it does. i know that i haven't seen any 5 jump lines anytime in the recent past. the point of pic n' shovle is to be more chill with tons of jibs and such.

Jim Mangon has come in to park city and taken it from a place with a park worse than the canyons and in 3 years built something that is top notch, and by far the best in the area. it is a shame that people can't realize that without the things that jim has done there wouldn't be a park and things would be totaly different for every skier who skis there.

i don't know i just think that we should all praise PC and Mangon for their good work on taking nothing and making something big. so why don't we actualy take time to actualy write a nice email thanking them for what they have done instead of like always happens write them an email bitching about something.

it is a lot easier to cut something down than it is to help build it up.

where are these magical parks that you say are so much better than pc?

pc is rad. ive gotten so much better living here just in the last 3 months. the jumps in kings crown are sick, and the rails arent a waste of time like the stunt rails in colorado. sounds like a lotta bullshit falling out of your mouth.

 
I don't know why he sent an annymonous email, there isn't really a problem with that. If he wanted Jim to know who it was he would have left a phone number on there for him. He didn't, I think it is more like a suggestion box comment he made.

I thought park citys park last year was perfect, I loved it. I also did take the time to write an email last year to tell them, and I also let chris know how I felt to. Just like every email I send I left my name and email adress on there. did I hear back from them thanking me for the nice jesture, nope. You always here about the negative things more often.

Mangum has done a good job 2 out of 3 years. If I ever get an oppurtunity to thank him I would, but this year I think beacsue they got such great reviews last year they are slacking off a little. Hes done a good job up until this incident, he crossed the line. Thats my point.

 
I have skied at Breck and Copper in the last three weeks. I liked both their layouts more. I found the rials more technical, and the jumps were built better. I never meet very many people that move here from Colorado, or Tahoe, in fact I know of more people that have move away.

 
You're kidding me! PC has stepped up huge this season. All the new jibs in Pick n Shovel and four jump over there and 5 jumps in a row on King's Crown. I've been to Breck and Copper. Breck is good, but their jibs are no bueno. Copper is a joke!! Have you really been to copper? Sounds to me like you got something personal ......

 
yeah, PCs park is pretty sick. i was at copper over sring break last year and wasnt horribly impressed. breck definately rivals PC, but i dont think it blows it out of the water.

 
There arn't that many new jibs in Pick n Shovel. The trap and S-box. Which are both boxes, Park city added tons of boxes, and no rails. there are no new rails, and they even took some away. Breck had a lot of really cool rails: up-c-down, a few up-down, a trap, down flat down and a s rail. the jumps had good pop too.

Like I said before, up until this year and this incident I liked Park City a lot. I have never met Jim Mangum either so I can't say what kind of person. I am just saying that he handle this incident very wrong. He has even called my freind again complaining about my post. I wonder why I never got a psersonal phone call when I was raiving about our park last year.

The reason I am still, and will continue to ski at Park City: I work in the plaza with a job that has too many benifits to mention. I don't have to drive 20 or 30 minutes to get here and I get my pass for free too.

 
Wow! You're funny! Do you really ride these jumps and rails at PC? I was in Breck for the comp and visited copper as I said before. PC has the best 5 jump line ever! There jibs have so much more cred than anything Breck has. You must love the circus because that's where breck's rails belong. You sound like a little bitch!!

 
y'all talkin about those stunt parks they have nowdays. i riding up the lifterchair and saw one them skier boys go off them stunt ramps woohee, must spun around 2 or 3 times, then honest to god truth landed going the wrong direction, aint never seen nothing like that in all my days
