I need some help here... I currently have all my music on an 1TB external hard drive. Every time I download a new song I add it to my iTunes library on my PC. So I recently got a MacBook Pro, which is required for college. I want to be able to have all my music show up on iTunes on my Mac just like I have it on my PC. Hopefully this is all making sense so far. Is there something out there, maybe like an application that will automatically update/add the newly downloaded songs to my iTunes library on my Mac or PC when I plug my external hard drive into it? It would be like syncing an iPod in a sense...
Thanks,P-Fez

Theres a thing called home sharing and it basically puts your library on the other computer. you just cant download songs onto it so your new songs would have to be in the Macs itunes library. Or transfer the songs but i have yet found out how to do this

1. Plug in your hard drive

2. Open itunes

3. File > Add folder to library

4. Select hard drive folder with music in it.

5. ????

6. Profit.

Well that would be the most obvious way, right? But that would be too tedious and at that point it would be more beneficial to just have my library only on one computer.

Actually I see what you're saying, but I would have to remember each song that I downloaded (itunes creates files for these songs by artist and album when added to a library) and then add each song separately, which would end up taking forever and driving me insane.

Somethings the profit is to much, I recently had to re-download i tunes, when I added all my music to the library it made triple or quadruple copies of ever song. Wasn't fun deleting the extras.

cool story right

1. Plug in your External HD2. Open iTunes3. Go to preferences4. Go to advanced5. There should be a button that says "change"6. Click that and locate the folder where all of your music is stored

This, but I dont think that if you added a song on one computer, it would show up on the other computer. I think the only way to do this is manually, since one is a mac and the other is a PC, and the itunes library files won't work with each other. All you have to do though is drag your entire music folder into itunes, and your computer will add any new songs you put in there.
