PBP Trailer Music Trends?

I haven't looked into it more than that past year of both early- and regular-season trailers, but think about the songs they used and how their artists kinda took off just after that time.
Early season last year: Some hathbanger track, I think he called it "j'fee 4 lyfe" or something like that. Now he has a pretty big following online, and is making a name for himself in CO for sure.
Regular season EDIAS: Ghosts'N'Stuff by Deadmau5. I was a pretty big mau5 fan for years before this trailer came out, but I just find it ironic that he DJed the MTV VMA's this year, and is now getting huuuge public attention.
Now, looking at this year's tracks:
Early season Revolver: Sunday School by Pretty Lights.
Regular season Revolver: Animus Vox by the Glitch Mob.
Not that anyone who is into glitch/electro/dubstep shouldn't recognize both of those names, but I think that both groups have definitely "blown up" in the past year or so.
I'm NOT trying to say that since "so many people" see the PBP trailers, the artists of the songs they so happen to choose suddenly get a ton of acclamation, but I'm more saying props to the PBP editors and directors for having the foresight to choose music that hadn't quite hit mainstream, but was on its way up.
Thoughts? I could be totally wrong, but I just thought it was interesting how it worked out. Does it mean the same thing for Pretty Lights/Glitch Mob? Probably.

Yeah, PBP was really far ahead of its time when they used War by Edwin Starr in 2005 for the War trailer. It blew up and hit number one on the Billboard charts in 1970.

Wait, that doesn't make sense.

Good thread and point my man.

I'm sure its a conscious effort by them to put fresh, new music that is gaining popularity in their latest trailers. It's for one much cheaper than say paying 50 Cent for a song and I'd like to think it speaks to raw energy a lot of these bands possess.

Last year's Isenseven trailer had a similar thing happen, in that they used a near complete unknown song and it took off.

As for Pretty Lights and Glitch Mob, been listening to both for years and always knew they'd sneak into the ski/snowboard scene. Glad Glitch Mob finally put out a cd so they could as mixtapes don't work quite so well.
