Pass pulled (most bullshit reason, ever ever)

so today i was shredding vail with a homie and we had a super fun day hittin the freshies and what have you, and the time came to bounce outta der. so im haulin down a run, and im kinda at the point where im over turning and i just want to get off this choppy mogul run so i point it and stick skiers left where its not so moguly to avoid all the gaypers clusterfuckin the run. i see an old guy below making huge falling leaf turns traversing the entire slope and so i recorrect to avoid him because he didnt even think to look above to see if someone else had the right of way. so i miss him by a pretty big margin but im haulin balls and he had a problem with it. (keep in mind, nobody else on the run cept fo me him and homie.) so i get to the bottom and stop to wait for my homie when old doosh bag skis up and says "you were completely out of control, you had no regard for anyone on the run" blah blah you know im sure all of you have heard this at some time. im like, dude you were the one with no regard for the skiers code because you didnt see that youre huge old balls turns were about to cut off me and homie. so he goes on to say "you suck at skiing, i was watching you and you didnt turn once you are not good" so i reply, "fuck you, shut up" and proceed down the mountain. little did i know that this old balls turns out to be an OG of sorts at vail and he skis wif a wakie-talkie and is freinds with the CEO. so he's radioin my info into the ski patrol to catch me, and when i get down i pretty much have SWAT waiting for me. old balls skis up, says i was straitin the whole way down the mountain with no regard and when he first confronted me that immediately replied fuck you. so they pull my pass till the 26th (after mad deliberation) because of my bad attitude, when i wasnt even the first person to bring the 'tude to the table.

"he didnt even think to look above to see if someone else had the right of way"

Anyone else see the problem with this statement?

Sorry dude, and it sucks you got your pass pulled but you might want to re-read that skiers code next time you're on the crapper. It's the DOWNHILL skier who has the right of way.

Yeah, people should use common sense when they traverse and keep their heads up, but even if they don't, it's still their right of way.

so stupid! you should be able to go as strait and as fast as you want! ofcourse still being incontroll and watching for others. which you were doing.

i agree.

anyway, why the fuck would you wait for your firend and let the old dude catch you and yell at you.

you shoudl have said I,m sorry I'm in an hurry my mom called me from the hospital, shes dying.

my bad, should have clarified. he was not linking turns, as i said he was traversing the slope or what some call the falling leaf turns, because he was going one side to the other. skiers code says "Whenever starting downhill or merging into a trail, look uphill and yield to others." and thats the code i was thinkin about because he would made his turn, hed pretty much come to a complete stop, pivot and then continue, and i do realize that "People ahead of you have the right of way. It is your responsibility to avoid them." is also in the responsibility code.

I find it works better to have a good attitude in situations like that. You don't really know who it is you are saying fuck off to. If he's giving you shit, be the better man and keep your cool. It pays off in the end. You probably could have kept your pass.

yo take a second to read, dumbass, i said my bad and clarified what i meant to say. whatever, i am done hating now i just want to drown my sorrows with some delicious coors original.

to the 26th thats nothing. at keystone they pulled my for two weeks for olliing a fence. i had to take a class to get it back. yea you prob woulda been fine if you hadn't been a dick

Umm, yea. It sucks your pass was pulled and everything, but it was kind of desrved. Just because an old guy yells at you doesn't mean you tell im to fuck himself, that's just rude, apologize and forget about it... It sounds like you need to hold your tongue, it never works to swear at authority, I blame this on you.

A bull shit reason is me getting a warning cut on my season's because I waved at a ski patrol, who assumed I was flicking him off.

really this is all i have to say FUCK STUPID OLD GAPERS THAT CAN'T SKI !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yep hold your tongue and your golden in these situations.

waving to a ski patrol now that is a crazy reason to get a warning cut

no shit, for some reason, skiing backwards in baggy clothing, with no poles, while waving at ski patrol looks like I'm giving him the finger... stereotypes suck.

Dude, that's like the best idea ever...

...or do like I do, and keep your pass in your pants. So when they go to look for it, just say you don't have one and ride away...

yeah i was gonna say that. he def. had right of way, you in passing have to avoid him always. also, why would u get angry with a old dude, hate to say it man, but your at fault.

exactly like others have noted. you were in the wrong. he was the downhill skier, no matter how he was skiing, he had the right of way. you were straightlining through a mogul field...no matter who you are, that is dangerous skiing and for sure ski patrol has the right to keep you in check for that. you mouthed of to this guy, regardless of who he was ("OG" as you mentioned or just a paying customer) resorts cherish their customers and theyd want them to come back and spend more and more money...little fuckers at their resort who gives the paying customers a bad time there obviously would tick them off. you are lucky you got your pass suspended (rather than striaght up yanked for the season)

so brief recap on "who was in the wrong"

old dude

- was skiing slow... not really even a bad thing, some people like making turns and taking their time, whats wrong with that?

you

- skiing dangerously (note; not out of control or whatever other phrase you may want to use, but straightlining moguls is still dangerous, if anything pops up you werent expecting ...bad shits gonna happen)

- saying "fuck off" to a customer

- saying "fuck off" to the completely wrong person

- more than likely having a whole lot of attitude with the guy....

- OBVIOUSLY NOT KNOWING YOUR SKIERS CODE!!!!..dont even try to correct youreself with that silly excuse/explenation you offered up later on...downhill skiers always have the right of way

thats like 4 to 1 man...as much as people would like to think they can do whatever they want on the mountain, you have to keep others in mind. you cant just straightline everywhere you wish sometimes you have to be a lil bit mindful of outside circumstances beyond mobb deep blaring in your headphones, and think of others trying to have a good time as well.

yeah this one time i was going pretty fast down a run, completely in control, and i got down to the bottom to wait for my friend and this guy skis up...."you have any clue how fucking fast you were going, you came this fucking close to killing that little girl!" it was ridiculous

Gotta agree with Mr. Dole on this.

Bite your tongue and you would've been fine I'm sure.

ok everyone in this thread at one point or another has done SOMETHING that doesnt abide by the "skiers code". the thread maker was skiing fast, which is not a problem in my eyes. sure, he should have held his tongue, but just because he was goign fast does not warrant his pass being taken away

Yeah, he was just going fast, but his attitude is what got him. I'm sure if he just said sorry and went on his way, all would've been fine.

Fuck that, you are not at fault, in my eyes if you are a newschooler you have supreme right over gapers, even if you murder them and rape their wife.

If it had signs that said like slow down or something, like on front slops, then i kinda woulda agreed with the old dude, but usually mogul runs (it was one right?) are you're allowed to go down whatever speed you like as long as everyone is safe on the mountain...

This guy musta seriously thought you might have injured him or someone else if you had kept skiing that way, but then if you were wearing like twin tips and had the baggy clothing and stuff on he probably woulda called the cops anyway :P

wow I had that exact phrase copied to past it into my response too, I stopped reading at that point. you're dumb. do you think that like the person going fastest has the right of way? dumb.

damn, i love how some of you can draw conclusions without even being

there. when i was typin out the story i was still rather heated and

didn't explain myself well. first, i did not cut him off, i avoided

him. i didnt ski in his way. second, they didnt pull my pass because i was skiing fast, endangering people, or cutting people off. they pulled it because of my bad attitude. the reason why i told him to fuck himself and shut up is because he came up to me, said i was out of control endangering other people, and finished his rant by saying "i was watching you and you are not as good of a skier as you think." being the holiday season, i thought he was some joey from texas because he completely sucked at skiing, so i had no problem telling him off. guess i'll hold my tongue next time, but put yourself in my boots.
