Party camping

Anyone know of any places around PC, the cottonwood canyons, or emigration canyon where you can camp without having to hike too far and bring a bunch of people and alcohol, and not get hassled by cops or park rangers or anything. I know this is way easy to do in Colorado, but I don't really know of any good spots near SLC.
 
there are a bunch of places up the cottonwoods but I've usually gone up to the uintahs so there wasn't anyone even close around. Had some pretty big 30-40 person parties up there
 
last year we had one at the campground just a little ways up little cottonwood canyon. the rangers didnt care and even gave us the spot farthest away from everybody else and let us bring around 100 people
